LazlowsucksiloveslutS
What if I'm running Vista with an ATI card? I know some games have texture issues with ati cards, True Crime New York, for example, where roads are invisible. But this game is 10 yrs old and developed for Directx 9, What's so special about Nvidia and Vista? I can play V on Win 7 with an ATI card but not on Vista? Why? SilverRST
Because of nVidiaMasterRace. I don't know myself but nVidia is much more productive they decided to support. AMD on the other hand, all they doing is keep sitting on their asses and doing nothing.
EvilDog77
Why the hell would you want to use Vista in this day and age? That OS was utter garbage.
LazlowsucksiloveslutS
Why the hell would you want to use Vista in this day and age? That OS was utter garbage. Because in this day and age, my hardware is way too old to properly run Win 8 and Directx 11. Thinking about going back to factory installed sytem which is Vista. Even considered installing XP, but that doesn't suppoert DirectX 10 (so I read.)
hunk41
Vista is a piece of slow sh*t compared to 8.
Yoona
Because AMD doesn't release drivers for Vista anymore, since like a year or more and Nvidia does.

Spider-Vice
Because the Catalyst AMD drivers have always been extremely broken on Vista, sometimes to the point of being unusable. I think that's probably a reason too. mahanddeem
Win 8 and 8.1 are superior to 7 in speed. Even on the same hardware. Kampret, Spider-Vice and Lowi

Still, like many said, Windows 8/8.1 might be a bit faster, but that wasn't the case with my old PC. In that Windows 7 ran better than 8.1. Oh well. That OS (Vista) was utter garbage. I would have to disagree with you on that. Vista wasn't all that bad. I mean, most people back in the day installed Vista on a PC which was made for XP. Yes, it had bugs and all, but hey the SP2 update made the OS pretty good. Edited June 8, 2015 by Kevin3014 Kampret
Kampret
a. NVIDIA still releases the 353 drivers (yes, 353, the one for GTX 980 Ti) for Windows Vista. b. The last ever AMD drivers for Vista was Catalyst 13.12, released way back in 2013. We are now at Catalyst 15.5 Beta (or Catalyst Omega 14.12). c. Why would you even use Vista for gaming nowadays? It's a decent OS, but it doesn't even fully support DirectX 11. Chances are, if your PC works for Vista, it'll work for 7, 8, or even 10.
