GTA V ONLINE - CRASHING ON STARTUP - PC

I am writing here, because the Rockstar Games Support team could not find the solution for my issue. I hope you guys can give me some valuable help, to be able to play with you online!

Here I will summarize all the information that I have gathered so far:

The issue:
I have been experiencing sudden crashing on the startup of GTA V Online. I was able to play online in the first few days, so I could reach lvl 12, but then it started to crash. It keeps repeating so I am unable to play the game. Fortunately the story mode works without any issues, but I am eager to play more online. When I am in the main menu of the game and click 'online' the game loads, but after half a minute the game crashes with a unique windows error sound 3 times in a row. When I am trying to go online from the story mode, the game asks me if I wanted to change my character's appearance. Whatever I choose the game crashes same as before.

My idea is that this message has something to do with the crashing: "ALERT Do you want to alter your character's appearance?" I think you should look into it!

To give you additional information here is the launcher.log file error messages which was saved after the crash.

I tried the following to resolve my issue: (These were all the support teams idea)

-Considering the idea, that it might be a windows corruption, I have tried: virus scan, sfc /scannow command in cmd , System Restore to a point when this issue was not experienced.

-I have updated my graphical driver

-I have reinstalled and updated: Social Club Application, Microsoft Visual C++ and DirectX

-I have tried to delete and recreate by launching the game: [cfg.dat] and [pc_settings.bin]

-I have tried to use the "netsh winsock reset all" command in cmd

-I have tried to disconnect any non-essential USB devices

-I have tried to disable all the background applications. (I unchecked the option to Load Startup items in MSConfig.)

-I have tried to set "Default Format" of my default sound device to 44.1khz 16bit.

-I have tried to seach for similar issues in the internet with no luck.

-I have tried to reinstall the game

System Specifications:
Operating System: Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit (6.1, Build 7601) Service Pack 1
Processor: Intel® Core i7-4790K CPU @ 4.00GHz (8 CPUs), ~4.0GHz
Memory: 8192MB RAM
Video Card: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 970
Monitor: Samsung S24D300

Please Help Me! I am trying to solve this issue for about 2 weeks, but the Rockstar Games Support team gave up helping me, and I have no idea what to do.

Do you have a Intel HD 4000 as your gpu??

nvm just read what you had re-install the game dude. Thats what i would do then if rockstargames support gave up theres nothing we can really do.

The discussion you linked is not the same as I have, since I can play GTA Vs story mode. My problem is only related to GTA Online. It crashes, when I try to switch to my online character from the Story mode, or when I try to open GTA Online directly from the main menu.

Updated to the latest Nvidia driver but that didn't help. Honestly it looks like you've already tried everything that I was going to try, so I don't really have any fresh ideas :-/ This is so weird, it just randomly started happening yesterday. And I was able to play online without any issues on Saturday.

I might have a theory, that the message: "ALLERT "Do you want to alter your characters appearance?" has something to do with the crashes. This message occurs after LvL 5. My other unlikely theory that it has something to do with Lesters call about the heists, after lvl 12.

I have just got a new letter from the rockstar games support. They suggest me to update my Bios. Since they did not write down how to do it, I looked it up on the internet, but it looks kind of complicated, and there is even a risk when doing it. My first problem, that I can't even find the proper update for my motherboard. I would be very glad, if you could send me the link, because I can't find it anywhere. A few good tips, might be useful as well.
Spec:
Motherboard: Asus B85M-G
Current Bios version/date: American Megatrends Inc. 0905, 2014.02.20.

I'm around level 33. I don't think it would have to do with Lesters call because I got that a long time ago, but I do think it could have something to do with the alert about changing your characters appearance. This alert began showing up at the exact same time that I started having this issue. Please let me know if updating your BIOS helps at all

I was able to get it to work yesterday, I may have found a workaround. If I open GTA online from Steam, and then minimize it (loading music still plays), let it load for a few minutes, and then switch back to gta...it seems to work every time. It skips the "Do you want to alter your characters appearance" screen when I do this.

OMG you've just solved my problem! I've been trying to figure out this problem since May. 26, and you did it with this one simple workaround! I can't thank you enough! I will tell this method to Rockstar support, and see if they can figure out the source of this problem, now that this workaround is known. Maybe later they will be able to even HELP its customers. I mean that's their job...
