We know for the Story DLC, Michael, Franklin, and Trevor are gonna use the Casino for a Heist. So I imagine Online would get it first, then the Story Mode DLC includes the Heist.

First it'll come as part of a Story Mode dlc, (M, F & T will hit it as a heist) then it'll be accessible in Online around a month later, tops. :)

ALLEGEDLY!!!

 

no word of this from a official source!

 

a casino heist in sp make no sense when they pulled a huge heist and everyone of the guys is sitting in huge millions.

 

in my case, each of the have 2billions on hand and other billions in stocks.

I think what would make sense is a BOGT esq. single player DLC with new protagonists and the casino as a heist.

This. The fact you can buy cash cards and then effectively bet it all in an online casino will mean it will not open online. Only way to avoid it is by making it a secondary, unrelating currency. But at that point what do you do, give everyone a set amount to start and once you bust out, game over?

 

Or do you replenish X amount of chips after X amount of time, thus negating ALL risks.

 

It just isn't going to work. If I had the choice i would just bet 0 or 00 in roulette with a stupid amount of money, every day, till I win tens of millions or even more.

 

It just does not work for GTA Online.

Who started these rumors about casinos and mansions? Every time that I have tried to search for GTA news in the past year, I see these speculations. The same people swore that the zombie DLC was coming last August and the Duke was going to ban everyone...

Hilarious to think that Rockstar pays "close" attention to their audience. That statement couldn't really be further from the truth. If you look at some of the Support responses you'll eat your words.

I'd like to see a casino DLC for one thing alone.

 

To have crew poker nights.

 

There would be no big money involved as it's potentially open to glitching. Like betting on races, you'd have a low maximum.

 

As this was rumoured to be next but they announced this 'Ill gotten gains' instead, I'm doubting it will happen.

 

Look at past speculation that didn't come through.

 

It would seem that what we all really want goes to (or off) the bottom of the list.

 

We want biker / military / police / zombie DLC.

 

We get crap like Beachbum, Hipster & Ill gotten gains.

 

What we need to do is start asking for crap, they may then surprise us with something good?

 

Don't get me wrong, I'm always happy to get new vehicles, whatever stupid theme the DLC has, but come on...

 

I often imagine the R* meeting where they're looking through suggestions for DLCs and some f**kin' bright spark comes up with the Hipster update & gets a big pat on the back.

 

Go figure!

That's... Not how online gambling laws work. Sure has been discussed, but obviously no one cares to learn and listen.

 

You put real money in, gambling leads to getting digital money out. That alone is highly regulated due to the multiple ways you can work around and bypass the "real money out" part, as well as addiction legislation.

 

It's not just about cashing out your virtual chips for real cash. Sorry, but it's not going to happen in any normal way with GTA$ and Shark Cards, if it happens at all.

I was about to waste my time looking up other games that do just that, but Wormholes just saved me the time and effort by showing its already happening in GTAV. Thanks wormholes.

Servers are fixed. Rockstar has no control over your ISP and internet/ethernet/wifi connection.

But that's not what gambling laws, in the context of opening an online casino, counts as. That's not even really gambling, that's just putting a wager up for the performance of something you have control over.

 

Nothing at all like putting a stack or two up for card flipping or rolling the ball on the wheel or pulling a lever.

I think people are putting too much faith in rockstar. I don't see the casino opening up at all. Since online takes place before single player, seems odd it would be open for online and not single player. Maybe im reading too much into my own pov.

Most definitions of gambling include "pay to play" aspects as well as recieving money as rewards. Shark Cards don't mean sh*t because they're entirely optional. I can make GTA$ a dozen different ways in the game without spending a penny on Shark Cards. So the pay to play qualifier is gone. The only thing you can win is GTA$, which cannot in any way be redeemed for real money, or anything at all in the real world, or anything that could be used outside of the game. So it fails again. We've already had race betting for a year and a half without incidence. There's no reason R* can't open the casino if they want to.

 

Even if they don't want to risk it, they could still "open" the casino by giving it an interior and making it a future heist location.

As for the "surprise," did anyone think maybe they'll surprise us by opening the interior on Wednesday, and then waiting until July/August to actually implement the slots or heist or whatever features they planned? That way it's a pleasant surprise, but they still have a month or two to build hype for the actual features.

 

I'm not saying it's likely (probably not), but it's a possibility. The two-part update is pretty unique for them, so there's a chance they'll do something special for it.
