I had the same thing happen to me after completing the final heist. I was plopped into a full lobby and I knew I'd be in passive. It was wierd that some players were solid and others were transparent as normal. I knew it was odd, because the heist team was transparent as I'd expect.

 

However, the best part of this story - even though I stumbled into this glitch - I found two God Mode types who were solid and I was able to f*ck with them. I proceeded to hit them, run them over and do everything I could to knock them around while they couldn't do squat to me. I'm sure they had no clue what was going on, I had one of them standing on a wall unable to come down for knowledge that I'd be on his ass the second he was on street level.

 

Normally, I'd have gotten out of that weird glitch as fast as possible. But the opportunity to troll some God Mode types was utterly perfect and satisfying when I made one of them rage quit.

is it just by entering free roam from a setup while passive?

More or less.

 

I've experienced it countless times after completing a setup/heist whilst accepting a job through a free roam session that I've been passive in. But I've never once been able to shoot whilst in the glitch; my cars and I are immune to gunshots, I appear to be 'solid' and I guess I am able to run players over, but I've never hung around long enough to try... I'm paranoid people would report me for 'hacking' heh.

Their are actual passive mode and god mode glitches on ps4 now....

 

Rockstar won't do nothing to them because it's only a glitch and not hack/mod

 

Just have to hope it gets patched in the next update.

They get put in the cheater pool for a few days. Friend of mine was doing it and someone recorded him, noticed he had the dunce hat on too and didn't get on GTA for days on end.

Now I know why i've been seeing an increase of players hanging around the pier

Ran into someone using god mode on Xbox One. Douchebag stood out in the open and took some Carbine rounds to the head, then killed me with a shot gun. Also killed a member of my crew after I spawned in, and I hear her say "bullsh*t!" into her mic after she got killed by this cheating assclown.
