Looks like complete and utter sh*t (I know textures are buggy but that is way too weird), probably f*cked up at some point, BUT!

Nice work. I assume you used IV:SA?

If you're gonna convert the vegetation, I advice you to grab the 'original vegetation' pack from the 'Addons' menu.

I think GTAV will break if it has to load ~1000 trees at 10.000 triangles each.:p

Yes, IV:SA.

To be honest, it's so early that I have seen no vegetation, so I don't even know how that would work o_O

 

//Well, we can't go this far, memory issues are happening and I couldn't convert some parts of the map, completely messed up at the moment. But that was a nice test :D

What do you think about adding _hi prefix to .ytd files? Maybe game will read them as in vanilla.

This mean GTA 5 engine is superior compare to IV engine? Sorry for dumb question m8 but the physics in GTA 5 looks like it was tone down :/

Debugview. Microsoft Free Tool. Useful for detecting issues and to trace files which are crashing your game.

 

I believe the game isn't handling the great amount of files in the images folder, after adding more map sections LA disappears a bit :/

@TrustedInstaller Why don't you just split IV:SA's map into three different maps: LV & Desert, SF & Flint County & Bayside, LS & Red County? Keeps the file size down.

 

Basically something like the map below, split at the water so as to minimize the required map alterations to make it look usable. All you'd need to do is remove bridges and add barricades to the ends of the roads.

 

Forgive my crappy markings, I'm on a tablet. The idea should be clear, though.

 

 

 

Purple: LS | Green: SF | Red: LV

Problem is not file size...

SF Files + SF Only JSON alone is buggy AF.

Mixing two big regions would end up in an excessive amount of glitches. That's what I noticed here...

Texture Issues

Disappearing Models

Dark Shadows

Sections gone by 50% or 75% //Not loading.

What I'm saying is just have the smaller regions, three maps with one city per download.

 

Is SF just buggy as is? And is there anything that can fix it?

Just FYI - the latest FiveM update has some fixes for disappearing model sections and alpha-tested surfaces with shaders that are supposed to set a draw bucket not getting the draw bucket set (and trees.sps now having a sensible alpha reference value, as the old one was more like '0') :)
