_astroAtomic Posted June 4, 2015 Share Posted June 4, 2015 Noticed a lot of people commenting on a modification of mine that their 'game is f*cked' or 'wont start now!' after trying to install this> https://www.gta5-mods.com/vehicles/rwd-drift-handling-all-vehicles Before I do start my little rant, just like to say I'm by no means on the level of some modders on here, just like to drift...very simple. Wouldn't know how to script to save my life, modify anything other than handling and some textures. But my question is, can I make the install instructions any better/easier? They have been the same since V.1 and I've always had people comment that something has gone wrong or just doesn't work at all. Added (Follow the 'Read me' file 100% and you wont have any install issues) to description, hoping that my stop it but it hasn't. I'm looking for advice to help make it easier from some one who knows what they're talking about. It's also kind of annoying reading (can you put a tutorial video up or something there is NO CLEAR instructions)...I thought I'd made it as clear as day on how to copy and paste the data, seems like I was wrong. Despite spending hours on detailed, formatted documentation in Microsoft Word and releasing it as an easy to read PDF, I can't tell you how frustrating it is to find that people still have issues. That's why when I released my mods and add-ons, I just release them in the form of an InstallShield wizard. Have had very few complaints when using that. If you need help, perhaps I can assist with creating an installer for you that you can distribute. My schedule is tight but as long as you can provide the files, I can probably do it at some point. Glad to see someone understands, I know its only a basic mod but didn't think I'd be getting comments like "my game crashed" or "it's f*cked", the guilt trip is real! But yeah, totally sucks that people always assume it's the dev's fault for it not working on their system. Especially when most of the time, it's an error on their end, oftentimes due to simply not reading what was provided lol.
