GTA: Online is Completely Broken For Me

So yeah pretty much the game doesn't work anymore for me. I can't stay 10 seconds in a public lobby before either they lobby empties or I get a connection error message. When searching for LTS lobbies I can only find lobbies with like 2 people usually. The game constantly gets errors during loading screens. Sometimes I will get into an LTS but then get disconnected. Nobody joins my mission invites or heist invites. The game is constantly bugging out and little things keep going wrong. I keep getting timed out. Can anyone relate or help me? I've tried contacting R* numerous times but they just give a bunch of BS about opening ports and putting codes into my router, which quite frankly, I should not have to do just to play a game. My internet is 100% working and fairly fast. All my other games work perfectly online. It's just gta that doesn't work so nobody even bother re-direct me to some other thread about forwarding ports etc etc...

 

I'm trying to save as much money as possible for the new DLC but literally it takes me up to 20 minutes to get into a decent LTS. There's pretty much no other way of making good money in the game because heists aren't working and R* has stopped letting us do RR solo. Luckily R* said the DLC will be arriving this week but we all know "next week" means next month in R* language. This should give me a bit of extra time. I just feel like this game will never get fixed. I'm sick of R* telling me that I haven't got a good enough internet because my internet is perfectly fine and like I said, can handle all my other games perfectly, stream movies etc. R* needs to get their gold plated finger out their diamond crusted arse and fix their bloody game.

Spawn location: Garage

 

 

Don't spawn in your apartment.

 

Whenever I was trying to enter online without having to load story mode > pause > online > enter online/choose character, the game would not load me into online and similar issues you mention did happen from time to time. I put my spawn location to garage and I'm had less problems. By less, I mean I still get some connection errors or whatever but it's rare I do. Idk if that help your situation but it has mine and others in my crew I told to switch spawn location from apartment to garage. Heist for me and some others (in my crew) have created this lag, no one in session, job invites and connection issues when trying to spawn in our apartments when getting online. Try change it to spawn location and your garage, hope it helps.

You'll always get generic replies from R* support for tech support. You say it works fine for other games, but are those games dedicated servers? GTA Online is P2P, so if your host is too far (most of the time they will be), you'll timeout, or get separated lobbies. The game isn't broken for you, it's just how the game is designed, and designed quite poorly. I time out quite a bit, and most of the time I just find myself resetting my internet connection to do so (pulling out the ethernet cable). My modem is horrible, and that's the cause of it for me, you shouldn't have to forward anything you're right, but doesn't mean to ignore that step.

 

I'd check for anything using traffic on your connection, it doesn't matter if you have the best internet evarrr, something draining your speed can cause the slightest issues. Since R* cheaped out on the multiplayer side of things.
