question about robbing stores

I heard you don't get as much cash if you grab it yourself, is that true?

I often drive around and rob stores, mostly by holding up the store clerk but sometimes grabbing the cash myself. I've not really noticed much of a difference between the methods in terms of money gained.

At 10+ million I don't rob stores for the money anymore. I just do it for sh*ts and giggles. That's why I don't really care if waste more money than I steal. It's fun regardless.

I usually do a spree while waiting on call or something.

It is fun indeed! I do the same thing: On call, or waiting for the next setup, or surviving a bounty...

Anytime I find myself in Freeroam, my mind turns to productivity.

At levels 490/390 and 60+ million, I certainly don't need to rob stores... but it's fun! Especially around the 3rd or 4th. Tear gas the enterance to prevent SWAT from entering...

Funnily, I never rob the store nearest to my apt in Del Perro. I don't like sh*tting in my own yard I guess.

I still rob stores for the kicks. Try and see how many you can hit before the cops kill you. Plenty of times I was just going in for snacks and the clerks starts in with the "I'm watching you." I usually use my flare gun on that guy.

OP, just shoot a couple bottles. And yes, blasting the clerk and grabbing the cash yourself is quicker.

I never get killed by cops.

I never get killed by other players.

Now we both just lied.

I can confirm this.

You don't get as much if you kill the clerk and empty the till yourself. You get about $600-$800 for that, while making them open registers gets you $1100 - $1800.

Not a lot but this does happen - I've been robbing stores since Oct 2013 and I stopped killing them after the first week.

Weapon type matters in that the more bullets you shoot NEAR him the faster he goes. Aiming on him is counter-productive because you can't shoot.

eg. Shooting a pistol once every 2 seconds will not make him go as fast as if you light up the whole store with a minigun.

That being said an assault rifle on full auto will make him go as fast as possible, there would be no difference between using that and the minigun.

I usually try and shoot as much merchandise as possible while he's loading the bag.

Grabbed cash: $1200

Spended on Ammo: $ 1500

Who robs stores for money anyway?

Louder gun = faster clerk.

Gusenberg FTW.

BTW, *everything* the shopkeeper says is a lie. "I can't go any faster". "That gun isn't helping you know". Etc.

2 stars vs 3 makes a big difference.

Not worth the bother anymore.

What, robbing stores or this forum in general?

Hope this helps,

Don't know about anyone else but the second time I robbed a store, as soon as I turned my back the clerk shotgunned me twice and I was dead, so just because of that one guy every robbery now ends in a shotgun blast to the face. It's worth the extra star tbh

Just back out of there facing the clerk and you can shoot him if he pulls a gun in you.

A new 'wrinkle' I noticed (maybe not for the game though) is that the clerk may hide behind the door if you follow him to the back, somehow slipping past you and running out the front into the street instead of cowering in the back like they usually do.

Got a chuckle out of that one while I loaded the sneaky buzzard up with lead...

You got that right.

Don't tell anyone, but I always talk back to the dipstick as I'm robbing the store...just like the mechanic at LSC:

"What brings you in today?"

"The vehicle right in front of you."

Who robs stores for money anyway?I do. Playing bumper cars with cops in my AK while all I do us drive store to store taking 1500$ average per store is good times. 😊

Maybe, if people like you, got your jollies in other ways than just "killing that other player and laughing at his virtual inferiority", you would understand...maybe.

Just shoot a few bottles. If its one with two tills you can make a cool $100 just by firing a shotgun at it, this also speeds the guy filling the bag of money up. I think the only time you get less money is when you kill the shopkeeper and raid the till yourself.

I just hit the guy in the nose with my .50, and take the cash out of the register myself
