question about robbing stores

Okay, so I know that you can fill the intimidation meter faster by yelling in the mic or by shooting around the cashier. My question is, does your choice of weapon also have an effect on how fast it fills? I mean, if someone was holding an assault shotgun or combat MG in my face, I'd probably crap my pants...on the other hand if it was a pink SNS pistol, I'd have to resist the temptation to ask if it came with a matching dildo. Also, does it make a difference where you are aiming? Ie, aiming at their head or the nuts vs an arm or not even directly pointed at them. Seems like these variables should have an effect as well.

Weapon type matters in that the more bullets you shoot NEAR him the faster he goes. Aiming on him is counter-productive because you can't shoot.

eg. Shooting a pistol once every 2 seconds will not make him go as fast as if you light up the whole store with a minigun.

That being said an assault rifle on full auto will make him go as fast as possible, there would be no difference between using that and the minigun.

I usually try and shoot as much merchandise as possible while he's loading the bag.

I have not noticed any difference in the cashier's speed after I fire the first bullet. You can empty the whole MG mag and it doesn't matter. Maybe we should time it.

i dont think it matter but just to be sure he doesnt try anything stupid i always rob stores with the minigun...

make a bad move and he would end up with 100 bullets heading his way in no time!

When I rob stores I only shoot two times, first to let him know I am serious and the second to splatter is brains all over the products behind him after he gives me the money. :p

Lol @ people blowing thru a grand's worth of ammo while stealing $1500. I haven't robbed a store since I unlocked the tattoo...

OP, most of the info here is accurate - but you don't need shoot at all and you'll still be in your car before the cops arrive. Speeding the cashier up just means you're likely to be totally gone before the cops even see you. 2 or 3 shots is plenty.

As long as you spend more in ammo than you are getting from the register, you're good.

Weapon is no factor. In fact, no matter your choice for intimidation, the meter only fills so fast. I've got it to about 7-8 shots in vicinity with an auto shotty and 10-12 with an AP, to keep max progress on the bar.

However, some clerks are not as easily intimated and you really got to keep the shots going to continue the fastest progress.

You can rob a store as Franklin in SP with a baseball (lol) so I doubt gun choice makes a difference

Don't know about anyone else but the second time I robbed a store, as soon as I turned my back the clerk shotgunned me twice and I was dead, so just because of that one guy every robbery now ends in a shotgun blast to the face. It's worth the extra star tbh

Edit: One shot is all you ever need, I never use any ammo for intimidation and I'm always in my car before the police are in sight

I just put on an outfit with a mask, jump in,pull out a Heavy Pistol, point it at the clerk and wait for him to do his stuff, then if he tries pulling out a gun and shooting me while I run out,I shoot him (usually just to wound him to avoid 3 stars).

Shooting the clerk and taking the money from the till is often better.

you're overthinking it.

This.

Also. If my store was being robbed daily by hundreds of people, I'd close it...

At 10+ million I don't rob stores for the money anymore. I just do it for sh*ts and giggles. That's why I don't really care if waste more money than I steal. It's fun regardless.

I usually do a spree while waiting on call or something.

I remember when store robberies at launch could get you up to around $10,000.
Then R* released shark cards and reduced the amount :(

yeah, I never fire off a single shot, mainly because I don't want to waste ammo, the take is too small to justify IMO. Plus it's totally not necessary. I always get out and get away long before the cops get there even at three stars, and if there's three I can use a mask to lose the chopper before it even gets close. I just always wondered if these things have an impact...I thought it'd be kinda funny if they did.

Incidentally, I just looked and I've robbed 467 stores. I'm sure that adds up to a fairly large amount, even if it is only a small percentage of my finances. I only do it if I am in there buying snacks, I figure I might as well take an extra $1500 if I'm gonna be in there anyway. Easy money, fast, and good for some minor entertainment between real jobs.

I never shoot the clerk. I make a mad dash out of there without using a single bullet

then you've probably never witnessed a clerk pulling a minigun on you. It's rare but it can happen. You wouldn't leave the store without a shot then.... In fact you probably wouldnt be leaving the store at all.

I still rob stores for the kicks. Try and see how many you can hit before the cops kill you. Plenty of times I was just going in for snacks and the clerks starts in with the "I'm watching you." I usually use my flare gun on that guy.

OP, just shoot a couple bottles. And yes, blasting the clerk and grabbing the cash yourself is quicker.

I heard you don't get as much cash if you grab it yourself, is that true?
