If you want to get the default vehicle back, just delete/move/rename the veh file for the character in your GTA5 folder. I may add a way to restore it in the future if people want it though.

I started thinking about that when I did one of the first missions where you are forced to use Krystal's car, but then got reminded later on in the mission where Franklin has to jump from a boat into it. That would definately not work with replaced cars :p.

 

Now that I've added the ability to temporarily disable the mod thought, it is possible. I'll try get it added for the next release :)

Yeah, I can see the uses when story is complete, multiple nice cars to choose from!

 

Near their vehicle it just replaces it. When they are in the car it's not working perfectly yet but basically the scripts removes them, gets rid of the default car and then spawns the replacement and puts the player in. Unfortunately I haven't got that far with my save to test it with Trevor, I haven't heard anything from the other users though.

 

If you have any issue lemme know and I'll see what I can do to fix it.

it doesn't seem to work with windows 8.1, my USB xbox 360 controller for windows was remapped and when I'd press the start button on my game controller I'd be taken to the start menu for windows 8.1 instead of the games menu

Okay, I think I found a problem, when I have "Replacement Started" and I get into a Bodhi it disappears... it doesn't matter if its Trevor's or not. I can also replicate it with Franklin... I got a Bodhi for him by using a trainer to spawn one.

 

Also, how can I replace Franklin's bike and not is Buffalo.

 

EDIT:

The same happens with Micheal's car and Franklin teleports onto his Buffalo S... but his bike is fine.

 

EDIT2:

A few options aren't saving on the cars, before I saved the car it had custom tires*the wording on the tires* and the plate color doesn't save either. Also is it possible to put the colored blimps for the vehicles instead of the red dot?

Sorry for the late replies, been pretty busy recently!

Not quite sure how to help with this one as I don't use a controller for mods. Sounds like it is something wrong with your controller config if anything though.

I'm planning on adding support Franklin's bike and Michael's family's cars after I've fixed the other bugs.

 

I thought the 'custom tires' mod was saved but I'll have another look. Plate color I wasn't able to find anything straight away in the scripthook but I'll check again.

 

The new blip system is all coded but only works on a current development build instead of the released one atm since I'd have to code everything for blips into my mod but since it's already added but not released in the scripthook didn't seem worth my time to re do it all.

 

 

The issue I had is Trevor falling out of his vehicle with the cop chases and also the issue i've had is the stock vehicles, you spawn on the roof still but then it vanishes lol, so i'm testing the replaced vehicles to seei f they are working right now.

New version out, no new features but added a lot of debugging stuff so I can hopefully get to the bottom of the bugs people have been having.

 

If you are having issues, don't forgot to check the 'ReplaceCharVehLogFile.log' file in your GTA5 directory as well as the 'ScriptHookVDotNet.log' file for errors.

Please can you re-upload the v0.4 ? (I play with many mods, and the last Rockstar's update disable everything. And many mods are abandoned now, so I can expect more updates...)

Every versions after 0.2.1 don't work properly for me, everytime replaced car has been spawned near michael's garage, is it only my problem?

I was able to get this to work, I had installed the previous version of this outside the script folder and I may of had the developers copy of Community Script Hook V .NET installed before that another script mod pointed to by accident as it's link, I installed ca07ef-ReplaceCharVeh 0.5 and ScriptHookVDotNet v1.0 installed now, I spawned a Canis Mesa 3 jeep from Simple Trainer GTA V by sjaak327 car spawn menu and from it's saved car menu and made it Franklin's player/main car and it was a saved fully modded all the works Canis Mesa 3 jeep too, it's in Franklin's Aunt Denise forum drive, drive-way now !..

euh im maybe stupid but my game does not generate a config file :/ how is it named so i can create one ?

 

edit :oops sorry i found it, i tought ill be a txt file...
