Was the Prison Break Heist poorly set up?

Another completely useless setup is Deliver EMP from Humane Labs Raid

In the actual heist, if you're in the helicopter when the EMP goes off, you see the lights of the entire map, from Blaine county all the way to Los Santos go out

If the EMP is powerful enough to shut down all of San Andreas, why do you need to get it inside the lab?

Further flaws with said heist is that, if an EMP set off every electronic device in San Andreas, why didn't the military get involved? Surely it would be classed as an act of Terrorism

Only Merryweather was involved on that one.

Heres a stupid idea. Pac Standard vans where the navigators can do it themselves using the traffic app and take photos of the plates of the vans. Another stupid idea is why the alarm goes off so fast in Humane labs where in other stealth missions from other games like RTCW there are actually alarm boxes. SO many stupid ideas to count with such as why Lester didn't suggest the Kuruma on Pac Stan where the players would just park one at the apartment and the Bikers mission from Series A.

Still had hopes for being casanova on the leaked heist audio.

Ha, I never knew that. Surely it would disable your chopper in that case, regardless of how high you ascend!

The real flaw with the Humane Labs however, is that you break in twice. First time is stealthy in order to plant an EMP. Thesecond time is not-so-stealthily to rob the place.

Then there's the matter of the flare to direct you to the landing zone, which is pointless once you've played it before. Also the landing zone itself is an almost vertical beach which is just asking for noobs to run unto the heli rotors.

I'd assume that the reason all the lights go out in Blaine County is because they just used the left over effect from the scrapped heist where you cut the power to rob all the Fleeca banks.

Video game stories/logic are often lacking. The reason is even if a story stinks, if the gameplay is fun and entertaining, it will sell so why waste budget and effort into a piece that is not as effective in the sale of the game.

Theres a saying "if gameplay shines, everything shines". It's easy to overlook a bad plothole, you can overlook bad game mechanics.

Vans is an awful setup. If I'm the driver I just hang around killing people or go make a coffee. If R* are going to force you to have 4 players, then the least they could do is actually make the mission for 4 players instead of 2. What's next, one guy holds the gun while the other one pulls the trigger.

I lost a lot of respect for R* in GTA Online. They really showed their inexperience in online gaming

Then there's the bikes on Pac Standard...

Yeah, fully agree that R* went for the cinematic experience at the cost of needless over-complication.

I consider the getaway in the Pacific Standard finale a rough draft of the Vangeleco heist in story mode. Where they take the dirt bikes and have the box truck get the Police off of them. Why not make the finale a two team job again? Two bikes, one driving Merryweather's last Insurgent pickup from Convoy and one manning the gun? I mean besides bickering over who gets to take the bikes, and who gets to spank the Police with the Insurgent and it's mounted machine gun.

There's plenty of things about heist missions that don't seem to make a lot of sense.

Why steal the Barracks from the convoy after slaughtering all those Merryweather mercenaries when you can just take the one box in it that you need?

Why do the Pacific Standard Bank, co-ordinated by Lester and be forced to steal and use vulnerable motorcycles in the finale?

You steal the armoured Kuruma for the Fleeca job because Lester expects a strong police reaction. He knows the same thing will happen with the Pacific Standard Bank.

Why not use the Kuruma again, especially considering it's a MUCH longer trip and you have to do the get away yourself?

The parachute jump is silly, if police are on to you with choppers they wouldn't lose you. You might as well change the plan to drive down the mountain (if you even go that far)

and drive straight down to the boat. Yet Lester insists we use vehicles that make it extremely easy for the cops to stop us from getting there, and risking our lives extra by jumping off a bike on the side of a mountain.

Accepting that some things just have to be done for the sake of the story, or in the case of games for the sake of action, let's look at the Series A finale. You go through all that trouble to steal drugs.

It's crucial that you help trevor get the stuff to the place for the deal. Instead of using a mini convoy with extremely suspicious vans AND a truck with a gun on it (which they stole a little earlier, no less), why not be smart and just take cars that don't draw attention? Make a few trips!

The finale could have been the team making several trips to transport all the drugs in a time limit, with special conditions being that they would have to avoid alerting authorities or the other gangs.

I'm sure there's plenty more examples, but that's just what I was thinking of after recent experiences.

My only problem with the prison heist is Walter White getting hyped for the regular pistol. It's a pistol, not a lightsaber FFS.

Heists were not designed to be thoroughly examined.

He was in a prison, not able to get a gun at all ever. The most dangerous weapon they can get is a shank.

He's also excited about the pistol since he, I guess, wants to kill some cops or something?

Slightly off topic but I'll take this opportunity to talk to all the pilots. Dont land the f*cking plane until we get very close with the armored vehicle. When you sit at the airport on the landing strip for 2 mins before we get there, cops are all over the runway. K thanks.

I feel like if he did get a lightsaber he would run around trying to chop people only to get head shot and heist failed.

The insurgent pickup was never used on the Humane Labs heist finale so what about give that a chance to be used on the Pac Standard heist instead as the amount of cops expected along with their helis. You are right why we slaughter those merryweather mercenaries yet we were forced to used bikes on the finale. Maybe give the Technical another exposure for that one. Kuruma being repeat customer and Lester should have thought of that one instead of the bikes where not everyone is good at using them.

I find it easy tho, really easy when you have competent heist members.
