Is there a way to make vehicles partially or totally invisible?

A little while back I tried to install a mod that swaps out Franklin for Claude from GTA III. It didn't work, but it had an amusing side effect of making Franklin completely invisible. This enabled me to do a lot of fun stuff I couldn't do otherwise, because the invisibility option in most trainers does not register in the Rockstar Editor, but this did.

 

I wanted to try this with other things, so I deleted all the texture files for one vehicle (essentially the same thing as I did with Franklin). This didn't work, though, it just made the vehicle not spawn at all from the trainer (and yes, I fumbled around enough to be completely sure that it wasn't there at all).

 

So what I'd like to know is if there is some kind of precedent for being able to delete all or parts of a vehicle's visual data while still having it function. Now that certain features on MAFINS' Menyoo PC have been fixed, we have the ability to attach props and vehicles to other vehicles. Since you can't make just parts of vehicles invisible with a trainer, an approach using OpenIV that would let us delete parts of the vehicles visual data (say, the wheels and axles on one car and the body on another car) would let us create some amazing Frankenstein vehicles for use in making movies or just dicking around (think all the cars in Mad Max Fury Road).

 

Needless to say, I find that pretty appealing. So sound off here if you have any ideas or direction I should go with this.

Where would I put that? I've never coded myself, I just use mods that others have made.
