Gull-wing doors now but no Deluxo?...

Hello all, I'm sure that many of you also were a fan of the Delorean inspired car from GTA Vice City called the Deluxo as I was. I contacted Rockstar Games previously about this. From the details there will be Gull-wing doors featured in the upcoming I'll Gotten Gains Update Part 1 next week but it appears no Deluxo will be included instead there will be two totally new to the series cars which will be a great addition regardless the Deluxo, however I reckon it would've been awesome if Rockstar decided to reuse and bring back a classic from Vice City which many including myself would've enjoyed. I suppose there is still a chance Rockstar may release it in future content but only time will tell!

I like the idea of a new version - while I liked Vice City in 2003, I felt that the Deluxo didn't look that great with that spoiler and really chunky front panel. Even at the time I wanted to like it more, but still preferred cars like the Cheetah and Admiral. Here's hoping if the Deluxo makes an appearance it's a little more clean, like it's real-life inspiration. Don't mind if it has gullwing doors or not, though that'd be a nice addition.

Agreed, I think an updated more smooth look minus the spoiler would look great!

I really want the DeLuxo in GTA again. Even if its not in V, I just want to see a HD Univere DeLuxo in a GTA game. Obviously, V would be better. I have had a ride in one of these in real life and its the best feeling ever. Probably the only car that I would leave stock (apart from performance and license plate upgrades). What class would it go in though? I want to say Sports Classics but, meh not old enough really. I wouldn't say Sport. Maybe Coupes? Thinking about it, sports classics is probably the way to go. If it was in that class it should be a good race vehicle (although the real DeLorean is quite underpowered). If it did get put in and didn't get Gullwing doors, that would be a major insult IMO.

I don't mean to be a kill joy, but the Deluxo should stay in the Vice City era. The eighties is the only decade where the Delorian makes sense.

A while ago I made a sort of design of what an updated deluxo could look like, anyway here is the coloured version. However I figured it should be more based on the Bricklin SV-1 with elements of the Delorean and another gull wing car the Bradley GTII. I also figured if it was to have a manufacture it would be SSA (a reference to sunshine autos the place you got the deluxo in Vice city), the deluxo logo itself is based off Vice City's logo:

 

I also like how both the Stirling and the Osiris will have gull wings it's sort of like how the dukes now has hideaway lights. Nice, little touches.

Excuse me but I only changed the font and size, I rarely post topics on this forum and when I do it ain't for attention. I especially don't like you immediately stereotyping me, I did in fact restore the text to default however only to make it easier to read since apparently some find it difficult to read Comic Sans font.

I will admit that the Deluxo didn't look as good as it should've in VC but the fact that Rockstar were thinking DMC was enough for me.

Technically the real top speed for the Delorean was 85Mph, only 88 for the movies.

Personally I think this car and other Vice City-ish type things will more likely come with some kind of nightlife (club) themed DLC with the opening of a few night clubs and things.

 

The only cars i'd really like to see would be the IV model sentinel with the body kit and maybe the Windsor from SA because it looked like an E-type.

Honestly, the cars that they chose are a lot better than a Deluxo could ever be. There are so many cars that are better than the Deluxo, I'd rather not see it in the game

Not sure if these new cars are just a coincidence, but a long time back I sent R* some constructive criticism by calling them out for being cheap by always having gone for conventional & scissor doors on cars (pointing out the Surrano), and basically dared them to finally go to the effort of doing gullwing (and sliding doors on vans etc), so I'm happy to see the new cars.

 

I'm also one of those who requested the return of the Deluxo, albeit blended with a newer car that was based on it (300zx), so hopefully it will come in part 2, in gullwing form of course:
