What should I do in PS4 GTA V?

So I am getting a PS4 soon, is first person view really fun online? That's the main reason I want to get a PS4 for GTA Online. Is it really fun on current-gen consoles? I was thinking about trading in Advanced Warfare and my PS3 to help my mom buy a PS4; or should I just stick with the dusty old PS3 for awhile? If I do get a PS4, what are some of the fun things to in GTA Online and V?

Don't hype yourself up. You'll only be setting yourself up for disappointment. Its the same game with better graphics. First person loses its charm like, fast. You might appreciate the extended soundtrack. Gta is a great game but I wouldn't upgrade to ps4 specifically because of it. Make sure you research what games will be coming out this year and then decide if its really worth it. Personally, I'm looking forward to MGS5, KH3, and FF15.

Initial thoughts on PS4:

Improved graphics

More stable

Greater draw distance (compared to last gen - I sniped a crew member from the top of maze bank to the northside pay n' spray entrance)

New Vehicles (if transferring progress)

New Modifications at the Pay N Spray

First Person

For now, abusive free-roam modders are exceedingly rare.

 

First Person. I have mixed feelings on it. When I drive I enjoy first person. When I'm on foot, I prefer 3rd person. This is because I like the field of visibility on 3rd person better. I've been told by fans of first person, that GTA V is 'ok' - not great, but just ok in these terms.

 

I enjoy playing on PS 4 more because it's such a nicer experience and my XBOX 360 is fussy with the game. For example, while flying aircraft low, you can hit something just as it renders in. My 360 also occasionally freezes too and requires a disc eject to dashboard out. Some have said, 'my 360 doesn't do that.' Mine is a very first gen 360 without a HDMI port. None of these issues are present on PS 4.

 

It's not a revolutionary change but it is a nice evolution forward. I'd recommend the PS 4 if going strictly based on GTA. XBONE has been littered with complaints about poor networking between Microsoft and R* which leaves players in lobbies by themselves. Some have said it's resolved, I've read others who say it's still an issue.

It's more fun because of the bigger lobbies imo and fp is good for driving but the main thing I loved about switching over is the graphics and the lag/glitches.

 

On PS3 I couldn't even speed down a street without half the city disappearing, since moving to ps4 it has not happened once.

As the guys up there^ said, it's the same game just with a new lick of paint and some extra features.

Prety much anything you can do in the PS3 version you can do in the PS4 version.

The only limit is your imagination and about 10 miles out at sea.

 

FP is a bit of a novelty, but it's well implimented and it's nice to have the option and it is great for driving.

I'm on Xbox one but that doesn't make a difference to your questions. First person is a novelty item. You think oh cool BUT after awhile it get old (to me anyways) current Gen isn't modded YET, so that's a plus.

 

If you feel like you need to make the jump and upgrade and your mom is willing to help, go for it. As what to do, its pretty much the same on all platforms, have fun.

There's little reason to upgrade solely for this game.

 

Sure, it looks better and some of the features they've added are nice, but if you've got it on PS3 then why spend $450 more just to continue playing the same game?

 

Price drops for the 4 are coming. Probably not 'til the holiday season, but honestly there's not really anything all that ground breaking (to me, at least) that neccessitated an upgrade.

 

I'd still be on PS3, except it died. I wasn't able to find someone selling a PS3 for a price I was willign to pay, so i upgraded.

 

It's not all that.

 

And first person is pretty sh*tty overall. It's fun, and ultimately useless.

 

Save your cash.

 

edit: also budget $50/yr to play online.

There's a new ps4 model coming soon so the original ps4 will have a price drop but then again that could be a year from now. But CG GTAV looks so much better just look up comparisons videos of GTAV

That's pretty cool that you're willing to part with your older console to fund the new one. Not many kids/young adults are willing to do that. They just expect it to be paid in full.

 

The upgrade is worth the price but like someone else said, not just for one game. But I'm sure you're not upgrading for the "better" version of gta5. You're going to love it and if you don't have many friends with the ps4 I'm sure you can find a few on this forum.

Just keep playing on PS3, not having to pay to play online is another plus.

 

I'd wait fot a PS4 price drop or for Rockstar to give us a 'GTA V Game of the Year' edition that'll include the SP DLC that we'll eventually get.

What can you do? Well, ehat did you do during PS3?

 

Save for modding, you can do the exact same thing! Get griefed by randoms, wait in a lobby for 30 minutes for a heist, theb fail because it's a random heist, do missions with a team so horrible they still die at Pier Pressure, and whatnot.

Totally forgot to mention this in my earlier post. Also consider this before making the move.

If this is the only game you play and you're on last-gen you may as well upgrade to experience the enhancements it offers.

 

CG is the best place to play GTA V.

 

You may as well upgrade anyway as even if you get a PS4 just for V you will later on get other games so it doesn't matter, though there are rumours Sony will be released a enhanced version of the PS4 this fall so I'd wait till then if you want to upgrade.
