iTRiP
Have you lost your chance to finish your first play through of gta v pc without interruption? Topic Started by...>>> " iTRiP" So what is your response to this question? " iTRiP" My motherboard's cmos battery fell out, resulting in the end of life of my pc and my current gta v pc first play through progress, ah the bad luck one can experience as an gamer. Don't know if my game progress is still safe somewhere, and now I cant find a similar socket and chipset motherboard to get back into the game. Tell your story if you have one. XCalinX
As long as the motherboard is the same chipset you will be able to reuse the OS so your GTA 5 savegame will be fine
iTRiP
As long as the motherboard is the same chipset you will be able to reuse the OS so your GTA 5 savegame will be fine Yes exactly, but that proves quite troublesome, still had a 1155, couple of years back I thought it would only be 1155, 1366 and 2011 socket to move forward for many years to come, but while I was gaming someone decided we might need to end of life those and put some 1156's and 1150's amongst others out there. And by knowledge if I change chipset the save game would be void if I am forced to reinstall os on C where my save game was, there are methods to cure that, but I wont be jumping through any hoops if I don't have too, and I certainly will not ever load some else's save to continue play. I might Dev Console input, through to my currently lost progress quest or mission and continue play with the stats reset to regain what would resemble a first play through. NTAuthority
As long as the motherboard is the same chipset you will be able to reuse the OS so your GTA 5 savegame will be fineum, you can reuse it in any case without doing anything special unless you weren't using AHCI before? True story, that's the exact reason for me being a gamer, the least amount of uncontrollable bad luck streaks. I give up.... Pointless thread is, once again, pointless! Replacing / reseating the battery, fixing it in place and reflashing the BIOS will restore everything! Every chipset has a 'just boot' mode to allow you to reflash. But by all means, waste cash on a simple fix and you can carry on aiming for the turd-covered award for 'Most Useless Thread Starter, 2015 / 2016'..... You have your opinion just like everybody...I am a professional gamer and I have been for a long time and will be for a long time, I build my own pc's and I know the facts when I have tested the components to reveal dead parts or alive parts, not every motherboard has some sort of method to fix it up again, some just weren't designed that way intentionally. I can get myself out of 96% of all computer, gaming, operating system related troubles without the use of the internet my phone or a manual. I wont be wasting cash since I saved over the laps of the last few years since I first purchased the now dead motherboard, possibly only manufacturer refurbishable, witch wont be happening since three years of warranty has passed. I will be buying a new motherboard with the same socket but with a different chipset. This is my only option because my other major parts I tested are still immaculate, and I wont be forking out cash for new socket and chipset witch at the current price at time of this post is more for less of witch I currently own. Crystal3lf
I build my own pc's You don't build them well if your CMOS barrery falls out. Never in my entire life have I ever built a PC and then had the CMOS battery fall out. Never have I met anyone who built a PC and the CMOS battery fall out. I don't know what you did, but whatever you did was f*cking stupid if your CMOS battery fell out, it's almost impossible for it to fall out. Yes, I know even a pro can have bad luck happen to them, was going to reset the cmos when I was attempting a bios mod, be my quest to guess how this dead mb could happen, static electricity or still power in some cap or whatever you might think. "iTRiP" "iTRiP" Yes it keeps some user defined settings alive and such that are not stored on the state discs [hard disks and ssd's] and not stored on the roms either. As to the question how could touching the cmos battery result in a dead mb, I don't know but it did, I was wondering how much volts, amps and such does a coms battery have since none of mine are clearly labelled, millivolts and milliamps probably. Yeah It wasn't set to AHCI, on my particular now dead motherboard it was faster and less troublesome on IDE. This trip is the biggest troll ever. Look at his post history. It's ... amazing. This, or it's a human being with an IQ of 65 I Don't think you even know what IQ's definition is withoutchecking that up... let me tell and save you the effort, Intellectual Quantity, amongst other known names for such and if I remember correctly when I did that approved legitimate test to determine this: I was rated at 287. iTRiP
This must be some kind of a joke right? http://listovative.c...ghest-iq-world/? that means the average is below those top 15 known people... One must then wander on what planet's collective knowledge most people living on earth are exposed to, then gravely uninformed of what is current in reality. I don't think a computer straight turns off if the CMOS battery fails/falls off, at least not anymore, Einstein. "Spider-Vice" How do you know this? did you attempt to remove the cmos battery on you pc, while it was running, the fact still remains that motherboards are not all identical. You want to know what I think is the "between the lines" funny part of that joke you made about those people, not by any means am I now insulting or anything other than simply using what you provided as an example and referring to so that your collective might grasp the context here: Most of these people if you quickly read that page have applied their IQ or similar cranium capability's to gain knowledge and prove to others that they can then compute such and utilize or enhance apon, I won't let the cat out of the bag, but if your IQ is sufficient you could laugh with me. So your saying you can still continue, but only when you reach your intact pc with your gta v pc install and progression on, glad to hear I am not the only one unable to play due to some reasons beyond control, don't suppose a console or a gaming laptop is the salvation to your travelled deprivation of play?
