I never said they should remove heists from Last-Gen, I was just wondering if anyone thought it might help make Online work like it did before heists.

1) Online is getting worse because more people are playing after heists came out and the 'servers' can't handle that. Just like you'll have way more problems on friday night than on tuesday morning.

2) All kinds of shoddy fixes and patches are making things worse.

3) R*'s quality control is crap. Even if you believe that adding heists caused the issue, you think those devs would ever be able to remove it again without breaking half of the game?

 

Like I said before, most stupid thread ever. It's like those little kids who have no clue how the world works but have those great ideas how to fix all the world's problems: "Let's just plant a billion trees on Sahara! It's so easy why didn't they think of that before?"

Ask all you want but also be aware that your question makes no bloody sense.

 

Remove heists? Why would you think that would help anything? Heists are just a series of missions. Heists players are completely removed from freeroam and there's a specific host that acts as a server of sorts (unlike in freeroam where the 'host' is a R* server) so if anything, people playing heists mean smoother play for people playing in other sessions.

 

But let's say that something about the inclusion of heists caused a big problem. Just deactivating them (removing the option to start and join them) won't help anything, you need to fix the code. You can't just remove the whole heist code from the game, just like you can't remove all the carrot and carrot taste from a soup.

 

Do you mean to remove the entire heists update? Including all the vehicles people have purchased for example? That's a great idea.

 

How about rollback the whole codebase to the point before the heists? Now not only nobody has any of the vehicles, the old bugs are back and save games are most likely broken, bringing even more bugs. Also everyone would have to update their game and online would have to be down for at least a day.

It's clear that you think way too much. I know it's not easy to just remove heist coding, nor would I want the vehicles obtained to be gone. The save files wouldn't necessarily be broken if they just left the vehicles, but yeah it'd be hard to remove coding. I was just curious what other's thought and if anyone else has noticed the how much it's fallen since the Heists update.

Bump up the thermal paste? Bump...it up? I'm not even sure what you're saying but I hope you're not suggesting he should just add more. Good way to reduce heat transfer and kill a system quickly. The problem with the PS3s thermal paste isn't the amount...it's the quality. It quickly becomes not-so-thermal grit. Quality > Quantity.

GTA is a multi-layer bluray...yet they managed to fit it on to just 2 360 DVDs? GTA is not a multi-layer bluray....MGS4 is a 50GB dual-layer bluray (25GB per layer) which would need 6 360 DVDs to fit all the content...and that runs just fine.

 

My PS3 is fine. It is taken care of. The sh*tty stock thermal paste has been replaced numerous times with fresh Arctic Silver 5, the fan idles at 2x speed and my PS3 CPU and RSX sit at around 50-55°C depending on load (around 10°C cooler than stock). I have two hard-drives, one of which was recently formatted. I assure you...there is nothing wrong with my PS3...and yet it still happens.

 

Lets not forget that you're both forgetting that:

A) The game ran fine pre-heists

B) This bug happens more commonly when going on call

C) When it happens to one player in a lobby it happens to everyone simultaniously

D) It is connected to a player in the lobby having a bad connection, once that player leaves it returns to normal for everyone else

 

These are all things that can/could be observed.

Bump up the thermal paste? Bump...it up? I'm not even sure what you're saying but I hope you're not suggesting he should just add more. Good way to reduce heat transfer and kill a system quickly. The problem with the PS3s thermal paste isn't the amount...it's the quality. It quickly becomes not-so-thermal grit. Quality > Quantity.
