Just a quick optional and nice poll topic, how do you, yourself, deal with players attempting to kill you on GTA Online? Vote above!

I escape on the Faggio. Everyone knows that once you're driving it, you're unstoppable and shouldn't be touched.

Kill him. I don't like to fight but if someone starts something with me then I kill them until they back off.

Closed crew sessions is how I deal with them.

I've become just another random in public freeroam. I shoot on sight, and lie in wait to ambush any dot that even looks like it's headed my way. No message, horn, emote or statement over the mic will dissuade me.

I wish it was another way, but 100% of my GTA public FR experience has taught me that a policy of homicidal paranoia is in my best interest.

I don't kill first, but after I'm 5+ up they usually go to pussy mode or leave.

spend most of my time in passive on ps4 so I don't get killed much. Well unless I'm looking a fight. Then I normally die a lot lol

If in a car drop Prox mines or just out drive them as chances are they are driving a chrome super so any hard turn will send them into a wall, and once you got distance, stop, get out and shoot the bitch

If he got me limited to on foot, I do what I can to get to a car. If you want to try to spawn kill me, you will have to put some of that 'skill' behind the wheel and come get sum.

Otherwise, if the griefer is that sadistic and is freakish about his pursuit of killing me, I just bounce to a new sesh.

Obsession with virtual murder and griefing is unhealthy, and I for one will not be an "enabler".

If they're chasing after me while we're both in vehicles, I drive far enough so where I have enough time to get out of my car, pull out my gun and shoot them. in order to avoid him sticky bombing me. I SUCK at killing while driving :panic: lol

In some cases, if i just can't score a kill...I'll accept a job invite.

I love playing the "Catch me if you can" game.

Sometimes I find people that are simply much better drivers than I in which case, I bring a jihad upon them and blow us all up :-D

It's the ones who are already fighting and killing that I'll go after, especially since I'm chasing LSPD tint for the sawed off shotgun.

If the player is pro in game, i go passive. If i play better than he i kill until he leaves. Well, this when i play alone. With friends i rarely go passive.

If they're right behind me in a car so I can't get out in Passive fast enough, I go into the subway tracks. They get bored of chasing me there after awhile and take the "easy way out"

Otherwise me in Passive on a high ledge giving them the bird until they get bored and leave me.

I have no tolerance for people trying to kill me. I kill them first or let them kill me so that I can grief them.

I switch sessions. There's no reason to stay in a session with assholes. Closest vote was "job accept" so I chose that.

the mugger is the best choice to escape killers :)

If so powerfull you are...why leave ?

Oh so you made a lot of enemies...good

That means you stand for something

Or just that most people are assholes trying to kill you for no reason :p

Now seriously, i only run when people want my bounty...and thats why i have a bike....also i can just do a solo session...explore the map some more and do some testing and afterwards still claim it :)

Or do heists with people that wont shoot me :)

The best defense is a good offense, or passive mode.

Or an Invite Only session.

Yeah because no other GTA has had guns or the ability to kill other players/NPC.

By your logic the game isn't Need for Speed so why are there races? The game isn't The Sims so why is their character customization? The game isn't Battlefield so why is there tanks/helicopters/jets?

Idiots who act like there is only one way to play GTA are in fact idiots. Truth of the matter is GTA can be whatever you want it to be because it's a sandbox game. Players that kill other players aren't playing the wrong game they are doing what R* intended for them to do. If anything people like you who stay in passive all the time are playing the wrong game because GTA has always and will always be a game about f*cking sh*t up.

I drive off in my Insurgent.

More often than not they fail to catch up in their Kuruma or Zentorno because they suck. If they catch up, they tend to shoot aimlessly at the back (nowhere near the illogical but obvious weakspot called the rear window, mind you), or sticky bomb me to no avail.

In the latter case, I kill the guy or blow their car up depending on the situation. I have cash to burn and since I'm a frequent mission runner, BS is of little concern to me.

That said, with the current level of mod menu users on PC, I avoid the hell out of free roam combat.

I had one today that kept trying to kill me, the first couple of times he did. Then I pulled out my assault shotgun and killed him the next four times. He went running with his tail between his legs saying over the mic "that fa**ot is a modder".

Not a modder, just know how to use my weapons properly.

First off: great thread. It's a good question...but it depends on what type of player you are.

I'll go in public lobbies only to do Daily Objectives. The most common reason would be to collect a bounty or send a mugger after someone. Killing "X" amount of players can be done in deathmatch with no bitching. So whenever I do the bounty one I find someone not moving or shopping, put a bounty, kill them and then send a message with an apology and saying it was a Daily Objective. I've gotten smiley faces or "oh okay" and even one guy asked if I could help him with an impromptu race, which I did. But one of those bounties that I placed myself and killed got so pissed that I disturbed his shopping that he sent me a "f*ck you" message and put a bounty on me and tried killing me. He got me once so I said that we were now even in a text message. But he kept coming at me so I went in Passive Mode while I searched for a game type. The more you play GTA:O at YOUR pace, the more you realize that game modes were created to kill players and make money. That freeroam killing isn't actually worth it. Bragging rights? People will forget who you are the next day. And it costs money to fight in freeroam. Is Passive Mode a bitch move? A lot of people think so but just like deathmatch it's there for a reason. So I voted for Passive Mode. It's a great way to say, "hey, I don't want to fight so please bother someone who's going to fight back".

But most people lately don't seem too upset with my "cheap" tactics for my Daily Objectives or using Passive Mode to avoid a gunfight (I do give them the chance to kill me once if they look like they want to kill me back - I totally understand - I also don't care about my K/D). There's a lot of players doing their own thing but also a lot of new players so I'm guessing they don't really know how to act or can't act fast enough. Like I'll kill them and they'll look around on the map for me despite being around the corner or they'll run to their car to run away or mow me down. So escaping from a revenge killer is easy. Escaping from a random asshole is much tougher. They will go out of their way to kill you. The worst I've ever gotten was a very good Hydra pilot, darting between buildings and using his guns as if he had an aimbot. I went in Passive Mode but still on the 360 so whenever you get in a car you don't go invisible, you get blown the f*ck up. So I switched session as Passive Mode wasn't an option when the killer is following you around; determined to kill you just because you're nearest/your level is high/low/your car is ugly/you killed his friend/your mic is on/you turned the game on. Any reason is valid for them.

Fighting back will never help. No one wins in that scenario. Personal pride, sure, but overpowering an asshole isn't really a victory. He won't learn anything. He'll change lobby and start all over. Best way is to ignore them by switching session. If someone does follow you from lobby to lobby (happened in Red Dead Redemption ages ago), give a player review to avoid matchmaking with them. It does work and helps root out those annoying players who take gaming way too seriously.

If anything people like you who stay in passive all the time are playing the wrong game because GTA has always and will always be a game about f*cking sh*t up.

So someone who uses a tool that was created to avoid griefing is playing the wrong game for using that tool instead of fruitless freeroam killing? But then again there are Invite Only lobbies to counter my argument...but why is Passive Mode a thing, then? If I was a chaotic "typical GTA player", as you make it seem, I would kill everyone no matter what they were doing. If they were in Passive Mode to shop I would go out of my way to kill them or block them in because GTA is best played as an asshole. Anyone using Passive Mode is an idiot. Because if you use Passive Mode, it's a fact that you use it all the time. And Passive Mode is not the right way to play a sandbox game that was designed to f*ck sh*t up despite letting you shop for shoes. Yeah, f*ck people by stepping on their corpses with high heels! I know there's deathmatch where I can earn money for killing others but I'm a GTA player and NOT stupid: I want to waste money on killing someone who's going to ragequit and it makes me feel good about myself for making their experience suck. Because they suck. And I rule because I don't use Passive Mode. f*ck yeah.

WTF are you on about dude?

I'm honored by your effort at response, but seriously.... chill. I don't give a sh*t how other people play, if you are pissing in my cornflakes, I'll go in passive. I do laugh at people who treat this game as CODoody though. It's like here's this huge open world game, and they live in the world of ego and weapons and miss so much cool sh*t.

Methinks you are just a *little* defensive because I hit a bit close to home. Nice contradiction too, you say the game is whatever you want to be and then say it's a game about blowing sh*t up. Nice, lol, that's some Amys Baking Company logic there. Next time I need official R* press releases, I'll forgo the newswire and come right to you since you know all.
