Pretty much this. I don't get why people get their panties in a bunch arguing about what car a completely fake car is especially considering no car in this game is a 100% copy of any real car that exist.

 

It's even better when they start arguing about what make believe engine is in a make believe car then take pictures of the make believe engine to prove their point.

Like I said in another thread, for some reason R* doesnt create new car brands. Probably because they are hardcoded into the game and thus, very hard (or impossible ) to edit.

 

So for each new car they create they have to use an already existing brand (see the Stallion case) and in this case they picked Pegassi, which IMO is the closest resemblance to Pagani.

When I played GTA IV, I thought they actually mix cars from different real manufacturers into one fictional one. I thought that was pretty clever. Then when I realized that the GTA car makers are more or less direct parodies of real ones, I was a little disappointed. I think it would be funnier if e.g. the brand Obey would contain Manana, Sentinel, Cognoscenti Cabrio, Bodhi and Vacca instead of being just an Audi ripoff. But that's just me.

 

On the other hand I'd also welcome actual copies of real cars.

I disagree, I think they have the right amount of makes for the right cars. Having too much makes in a game would be a little off putting.

 

Pegassi is the parody of all Italian supercars.

Same goes for the Imponte Dukes, Imponte is Pontiac but they make a Dodge Charger. Both makes made Muscle Cars at the time so it fits together.

Plus, Vulcar is a manufacturer with no Volvo vehicle. Ingot is an old Audi base, and Warrener is the chingchangchong Skyline base.

I'm a massive car nut in real life and I never understood why people argue about which GTA brands relate to real life counterparts so often.

 

R* take design cues from lots of similar vehicles to make a fictional equivalent, anyone who has any kind of observation skills and a rudimentary knowledge of car styling can see that.

 

Also... it really doesn't matter which cars belong to which company in the game. Seriously. Just enjoy it for what it is and stop these pointless arguments.

Pegassi seems to double up as a pagani replica too(The infernus has a zonda rear)

The Osiris is mostly pagani huarya with the front taking some elements from the La ferrari.Seems right to put it in Pegassi.

Pegassi is a mix of Lambo and Pagani as evidenced by the Infernus

The vacca is a mix of McLaren and Lamborghini too. But yeah, I think it's safe to say that pegassi is meant to just be the basis of those two Italian manufacturers. It's 99% based off the Huayra by the looks of it so it makes sense... no other manufacturer in game takes cues from Pagani. I think people are stuck on this idea that this one specific trend has happened so therefore it must continue to happen exactly that way and no deviation for any reason.

 

It's their game, they're made up cars, they could've called it a f*cking vapid if they wanted to.
