undeadpolice
Almost every GTA 5 player would have notice that if you increases the "draw distances" to max, it would cause FPS spike lag randomly, due to limitation of HDD loading textures into the System RAM(not VRam). Is there anyway or tweaks to load the whole map into RAM? I have 32GB Ram and its kinda wasteful not to fully utilized it for GTA 5.
Kampret
I'm pretty sure that FPS spikes are due to map textures not loading fast enough from the HDD to the VRAM. Map meshes are generally not very I/O bandwidth intensive. I don't think there's a way to mitigate it other than upgrading your storage media to a faster-spinning HDD or an SSD outright. lpgunit

No no no, unless if I misunderstood your question, map meshes had always been loaded outright. Textures, however, is not. Pretty sure you can't simply "load" the textures into RAM first before loading it into the VRAM. Loading the whole map textures would've bog down both VRAM and the GPU core. Crystal3lf
I think this is what you're looking for; but I don't think 32GB is enough IMO. http://store.steampowered.com/app/337070/ Just get a nice SSD. I have a 500GB 840 EVO and I never notice any lag spikes or any slow load times(other than GTA: O which is because of other people). undeadpolice
You wont get better fps ih you have an SSD Precisely SSD only helps the loading time, but it reduce the texture load during game play. I do have 1TB Evo Pro but that SSD is reserved for more main steam games likes WOW, BF:HL and BF4 and i rather preserve the write cycle. I don't see reason to install GTA 5 into SSD as I don't see longevity in this game due balance issues like the DERP Armor kuruma and assholes who kill their own crew after heists. In fact it has higher ratio in asshole players then WOW which is hard to beat but GTA 5 players did it hands down. iTRiP
The only known method to have the resulted effect of a fully loaded map would be to get the widest bus width on all the called hardware channels, it's the way pc programmes are programed to sell hardware, witch in gta's v pc's case is very lightly applied due to the fact that there wasn't any new hardware to be marketed at the release date...lucky gamer's this version's release. "iTRiP" [if you see/hear a performance or quality drop after an patch or game update, then this is the reason] Luckily for all gamers if this where to happen anyone is eligible to get their money back, because it would not be the same product to witch you agreed terms and conditions license use when you installed it. But as proof is now been seem that gamers will still make purchases to add more power in an attempt to get better performance by buying random hardware upgrade parts for their pc's witch would still fuel the...whatever they call it..., thus gta's developers and partners would still get a high enough sale profit witch in turn does have the same effect. "iTRiP" Or you could pay a programmer to tweak your game to load it into ram, but I think that is illegal, and would certainly void your game license & online multiplayer token. iTRiP
I probably could, but don't you agree that it suits me very nicely? They did put the smiles in the forums software to be used by all members... you could also share your thoughts on the topic at hand as well. Doesn't it Look Super Awesome Coolest Ever!!! "iTRiP" !!!? Now back to the topic. Maybe somebody here knows a programmer that can do that for people wanting to void there game just to do what the op wanted. Next poster please, step up.... It amazes me that an estimated 2000 - 6000 people have paid $30 for that crap. You're paying $30 for a slightly more convenient way to move steam games to a RAMDisk. Biff73
Try installing GTA V on a 256 or 512gb ssd, this significantly speeds up load time & frame rates
