wizardinacan
Hello everybody just need help building a gaming PC for roughly 1000 US dollars. If you guys could recommend a beast set of parts that would be awesome. Thanks! Link to comment https://gtaforums.com/topic/797914-pc-help/ Share on other sites
Andreaz1
Do you need peripherals (screen/kayboard/mouse) and/or OS to be included in the $1000? Are you keeping anything from an old PC, such as hard drives? yoječ
Are you going to overclock the CPU? Link to comment https://gtaforums.com/topic/797914-pc-help/?do=findComment&comment=1067531677 Share on other sites
YG.
Are you going to overclock the CPU? Doubt it if it's his first build. Link to comment https://gtaforums.com/topic/797914-pc-help/?do=findComment&comment=1067532750 Share on other sites

Here you go - http://pcpartpicker.com/p/xwZHZL If he's not overclocking he could get away cheaper than that build by going for a better value CPU (4460 or 4590), H-series motherboard and skipping the CPU cooler as that won't be needed. StormEye
No overclock will allow the OP to getaway with cheapest mobo and no-cooler setup. The only reason for better cooling at this point is just for longer lifespan of CPU, but I'm not sure if its that necessary as that CPU will be obsolete before the failure. sivispacem
The lifespan of a standard CPU on standard cooling at standard clock speeds isn't going to be increased by running it cooler. The thermal profile won't be the biggest factor in lifespan. Link to comment https://gtaforums.com/topic/797914-pc-help/?do=findComment&comment=1067586433 Share on other sites
swirler
I think not OCing a CPU in this day and age is madness. Its not like its a lot of extra work or time, there is some extra expense, but its well justified IMO (its not just performance gains, youre also getting rid of the crap stock cooler). Its hardly more complicated than changing your res, its a slider ^^ Considering the parts you might be picking out to get the most from your money, OCing a CPU prob has a price tag of about $60+. The only other place your going to get more for your money is the small premium attached to a custom cooled GPU. If your gaming, they should both be part of anyones build, regardless of budget or experience.
