Switching to Trevor is the most annoying chore in this game

Literally. Everytime i got to switch to this moron i`m a second away from crashing the goddamn controller.

There`s aprox 12-15 heavily scripted switch cutscenes for Trevor and each one of them involves him into some sick sh*t that is painfully annoying to the player and takes alot of your time as well.

This is particularlly annoying when you play the assasination stock market at the end of the game and you got to switch to every character for like 30x or more in order to make a profit.

Either he`s laying drunk on the top of mt. Gordo in a woman`s dress, chasing a guy in the LS sewer and yelling "i`m sorry i showed my tinghy", throwing a lost MC member off the bridge, puking an indian guy or jerking off in his trailer toilette and then wiping his disgusting hand against the wall or molesting Floyd in his bed. Oh or the most annoying one for the player- being a wanted man after you switch to this idiot AGAINST the player`s own will. Not to mention when he`s drunk inside that stupid vanilla unicorn and you need like few minutes to get him out of that sh*thole and sober him up. Add a forced slow-walk inside the interiors plus the drunk animation and you`ve got a recipe for a nerve brake. GRRRR!!

Yeah i got it R*, uncle T is a crazy canadian cannibal, meth smoker, necrophilliac, adult men-molester, mass murdering bisexual. I got this the first day i played this game, you don`t need to show this down my f*cking throat everytime i switch to this moron.

And NO, throwing people off the bridges and chasing a guy in the sewer while yelling at him about how you showed him a "tinghy" is NOT f*cking funny. Not at all. Maybe to some 12 years old teenager but certainly not to a grown people +25.

And these painfully terribly scripted, distastefull and pathetic switch scenes are very limited as well. After you switch to T for like 14.th or 15.th time you realize they are just starting to repeat.

Well i ain`t exactly thrilled about M`s and F`s switch scenes neither but i prefer them over Trevor`s any day because they at least don`t take your time and nerves. Yes hearing that annoying "holla at me ya`ll! PEACE" or "man i go before you take advantage" for the 40.th time is also a migrene-grade terrible but still better than Trevor`s idiotism.

Rockstar really f*cked these switching scenes up pretty badly.. I sure hope their next GTA will have only 1 good character instead of 3 morons and these stupid switching scenes.. Just like the good old days.

Dude are you serious? Trevor's little cinema is the most annoying part of the game? What about lack of none FIB related heist like Prison break, more jewelry store robberies, casino heist, etc. What about being forced to play three characters, and not having the ability to create your own like you can online? Rockstar did terrible on this game by separating ONLINE and Single player. How about lack of instructions in the flight school? It's sad that I have to go on youtube to find out what Rockstar wants me to do in order to pass a mission.

Oh and how the police have one of the most terrible AI.... in fact Rockstar made them into complete and utter idiots.

I can go on and on, but you get my drift.

I think you're missing the point of the topic though. I agree, it's usually a gamble switching to Trevor. There are only a few of his switch scenes that don't bug me. Worst one is going up the Freeway with 2 stars. Those cops are f*cking relentless if you try to evade them, spawning around every corner you go until Trevor finishes his prescripted speech about being his own attorney.

Oh come on. I was able to evade them easily, and I was near the prison too on top of all. In fact they seem to be scripted to letting you escape easy. In my game they didn't ram into my truck as they regularly do when I have 2 stars.

I have switched to Trevor like 50 times already and only two times was he chased by cops. And like LordRaijn said, it's pretty easy to escape them. OP is just unlucky, most of the switch scenes I had were short. It seems to be different from player to player.

The only one I don't like is the Mt Chiliad one. I rarely switch out of Trevor though so I never deal with that

I wouldnt say its the most annoying part of the game, but it does get kind of annoying after a while. its funny the first few times but then it just gets tedious. one of the worst is when T and M are in exile and you get that switch scence where hes right at the edge of vinewood passed out by that pool. its such a long journey back to sandy shores.

Some modder in the GTA V community well come out with cut scene skipper or alternative eventually, just be patient or request one

I remember in GTA SA there was a flight school mission skipper mod for it

"You don't understand! I could've had class. I could've been a contender. I could've been somebody, instead of a bum, which is what I am."

Excellent rant. one of the most interesting i have seen posted on this forum.

I also find switching to Trevor often annoying. Trevor is the psycho of the three, like Joe Pesci in Goodfellows, but the deviant sex antics i could do without. 12 year olds may enjoy some of Trevors antics, however12 and under do purchase and or play a lot of gta games.

Overall i have found the 3 protagonists set up an interesting way to play a gta game. I can not imagine playing as only Michael. Maybe Franklin and Michael, but the story revolves around 3 characters and would be much different with only one protagonist. With 3 protagonists the story would have worked just as well if Trevor was toned down to a more likeable character.

I think they are one of the funniest parts of the game. I'm 28. Hate me all you want for it. Trevor is also the best character. Without him GTA V would feel like the Brady Bunch because we all know Franklin isn't a gangster and has a horrible voice actor and Michael is boring as a door nail. Trevor is the best character and has the best voice actor. Just because you wouldn't like the character in person doesn't mean they did a bad job, he's supposed to be the one you hate so I'd say they did a good job.

I got to agree with OP, not only the switching scenes are annoying, but also they are wasting your game time to show you something that you've seen 50 times already. This is probably the worst thing coming from the switching mechanics. Couple of times I ended on the highway with cops on my ass (which is annoying as hell, because it's against my will and that is not the point of playing the video game in the first place), who of course finally killed me ramming me constantly and blocking my path. I loaded the game and ended with drunk Trevor in Vanilla Unicorn, which soon ended in a cop chase again, because some cop see Trevor (practically sober already) driving on the street. And don't make me start on being on top of the f*cking mountain when you have to walk all the way to the Grapeseed to find a goddamn car, to finally took out the goddamn dress and do something constructive.

I hope they will either delete these cutscenes in future instalment (if they will keep the switching mechanics, which were a waste of good opportunity) or at least make them skippable, because I would prefer ten times to wake up in a safe house than watch their life, when somebody's life is nothing more than wiggling his dick on top of the mountain or escaping from the cops.

I have to say, being stuck on Mt. Gordo is more annoying. I don't get it nearly as often as the police chases though.

I have found it's just easier to play as Trevor all the time, so I don't have to switch to him maybe masturbating in his bathroom. I always feel dirty after thar switch scene and I have to change his clothes.

I quite like a lot of the switch scenes for all characters as it makes the characters feel alive, not just thinks that only exist when the player switches to them. They're like little snapshots into their normal lives when the player isn't sending them into the military base or whatever. Anyway, at least Trevor's scenes are mostly more interesting then Franklin's infamous shirt ironing, or eating a packet of crisps ( potato chips, for you strange non-British English speakers/writers  ). I mean, I like all the characters but I can see how annoying the longer switch scenes can get, especially when they repeat. And at least T (for me) gets more variation, as Micheal only ever seems to be getting out of bed with Amanda, playing Tennis with Amanda or (thankfully) turning down some ladies "kind" offers.

Then again, I've only had the police chase a couple of times, and the Mt. Gordo dress once. I expect T is too busy being a scooter brother :pp

As much as I despise Trevor, I must admit that seeing these cutscenes after you switch are very entertaining at first, but it does get dull after a while, but switching as Trevor while at Mt. Gordo in a dress, or switching while the cops are chasing him are a waste of time and annoying. But switching to Trevor provides some great moments as well like Scooter Brothers, which is an easter egg to a popular GTA IV video. But other than that he provides some unfunny and dumb jokes together with a one dimensional personality who doesn't have morals whatsover.

What I really hate about Trevor is that he treats other, harmless people like sh*t. Especially the way he treated Floyd, made me feel bad for him. Floyd is just an ordinary guy with a great job, until Trevor came up knocking in his apartment at Vespucci.

Out of all the switching scenarios it's only happened to me once switching to Trevor and getting the "stuffing the plastic foot down the toilet " scenario as in the gameplay trailer.

What about the 'Chased by the Cops' scenario?

Yeah that's happened before. And on top of Mt Gordo in a dress like the others have said.

Anyone find switching to Trevor drunk in a dress at Mt. Gordo really annoying?

Yeah. Actually basically when he wakes up anywhere wearing only his underwear is annoying. Although Michael's and Franklin's scenarios are generally more mundane at least they don't piss me off.

Yes. However, I found him being chased by the Cops more annoying, and frustrating.

At least Michael didn't wake up in the middle of nowhere in a dress, but he thinks coffee are stimulants, or Franklin not trying to puke at a fountain, but he is drunk, but he ain't getting drunker.

For me the only fun part of switching characters is Trevor, since Michael always gets up from his couch or bed and Franklin is always eating chips or saying goodbye to a girl in a taxi (anyone got any fixes for that?)

Goes to show that some people are idiots. Besides, I think this three character thing was a novelty idea made purely for a heist based GTA game. I'd be very surprised if the next GTA has three characters because I think it's extremely unlikely that it will be heist based.
