zombrex2311
My mom is offering me a new laptop on my birthday, which is in 2 months. She told me I can choose the laptop I want, so I would like one that could hold with GTA IV, BF3, BF4, GTA V and etc... Can you tell or show me some laptops that would be best to hold this kind of games? Andreaz1
Definitely agree, get a desktop instead. For the price of a gaming laptop (€1000 minimum) you could build a very good desktop PC with all the advantages that 7thOne already mentioned. Besides their big and bulky nature, gaming on a battery.... You'll be confined to a wall socket more often than not and less portable than you think. zombrex2311
In my opinion, you're better off getting a desktop. More options for upgrading, easier to work in, better cooling, won't overheat as easily, flexible in regards to choosing your parts, etc. Also, in most cases, gaming laptops can be overpriced, especially companies like Alienware. They charge far too much than what the cost for the parts are worth, and are a waste of money in my opinion. Besides, even if it does run GTA V on high settings, it's going to become dated in a few years. On top of that, gaming laptops can overheat under heavy loads. Obviously, of course, that's not good. if you need something portable, you can build a mini-ITX PC, that still runs games pretty d*mn well, and it will suit your needs. Some cases are also specifically designed for carrying around, an example being the Cooler Master CM Storm series. I personally use a Scout 2 Advanced, and it has a carrying handle to make it easier. Not exactly portable, but it is doable. If portability isn't your priority here, build a desktop PC. I guarantee you will not be disappointed. If building a desktop PC was that easy, I would've had one by now. Also, having people building a PC for you isn't really cheap. Andreaz1
There are plenty of stores here where you can choose the components you want and have the store build and test it for you. Costs about €70 if I remember correctly. Even if you really don't want to build your own PC; buying a pre-built desktop PC makes more sense than buying a gaming laptop, at least in my book. If you're still hell bent on a laptop I'd porbbaly start looking at ASUS's and MSI's builds. sivispacem
Building a desktop is piss easy. Unless you're defeated by age 7+ Lego, anyway. Link to comment https://gtaforums.com/topic/797795-advices-on-a-new-laptop/?do=findComment&comment=1067529510 Share on other sites
swirler
If building a desktop PC was that easy, I would've had one by now. One day, when youve grown up, I guarantee you will facepalm *hard* when recalling this comment.
