I often hear jet griefers claiming innocence using the phrase, "it's in the game". Well glitches are in the game as well... deal with it. I couldn't care less either way, because I dont do either and very rarely battle with people. I just think its funny that one group of hiders hate other groups of hiders.

 

Whoa there. I don't "hide" in anything. I was just pointing out that when you're in a car you're doing something that was designed to be in the game. You cannot compare that to someone using bugs to gain an advantage.

 

Using a wall breach is cheating - the end. There is no disputing that very basic fact. Using a car that you can buy in the game is not cheating.

 

I do neither, but they are both very different things.

Playing an online game in 'offline' mode, protected from other players by being set to passive, makes you the definition of a pussy. How is that hard to comprehend? People in jets are still vulnerable, people just suck at getting to them apparently. At least they're not in pussymode.

 

What I can't stand more is when someone kills you then you get a few kills on them back and they go passive.. So you had the balls to start sh*t, but now you're gonna run home to momma? What a bish.

Playing in passive mode doesn't make me a pussy, it makes me a gamer who doesn't like dealing with douchebags like you. I enjoy driving and flying around, shopping, doing activities, etc. I don't enjoy having to stare at the corner of my screen all the time to make sure no one is gonna try to kill me. I leave PM for three reasons - when a daily objective calls for it (bribe cops, collect bounty, etc), when I want to participate in a free mode challenge, and when I'm required to leave for VIP work. Other than that, I can count the times I've killed another player for no reason on one hand.

 

I also fly my Hydra around because my Cuban 800 and Titan are slower and less maneuverable. Again, I don't flip off PM to kill others, although I'll occasionally turn it off to terrorize cops. That's fun.

They're avoidable, but driving around in an armoured car isn't glitching, so it isn't cheating. That's the point I'm trying to make, but it appears to be flying over your hard. Despite wall breachers being avoidable, that still doesn't change the fact that it's cheating and an issue that should be dealt with. But Rockstar doesn't care about wall breaches, since it doesn't affect shark card sales.

I'm just saying that hating someone for being in a glitch is weak, he is stuck in one place, it's up to you to initiate a fight. If you initiated a fight with someone in a glitch and thought you would win, that is on you... not him. Even if you say you didn't know he was in a glitch, you still went over there and tried to mess with someone that looked to be AFK, which again is considered to be douchey.

 

A person hiding in a jet or insurgent and chasing after low-levels is much more douchey (is that a word?). People can 100% always get away from a glitcher if they want to, getting away from a griefer in a jet or armored car isn't always as easy.

Yes, I meant head. When you hide in a glitch while you have a bounty, it's cheap and unfair. I don't get killed by people in a glitch because I always know they're in one, so I just avoid them. But that doesn't change the fact they're doing something wrong in the first place. It shouldn't be tolerated, regardless.

In passive ALL THE TIME...literally

I'm normally in a closed friend session but occasionally I get sucked into a public lobby and sometimes just go passive rather than the huge inconvenience of backing out to story mode and starting a new session.

I have a new profile and I've had it around 2 and a half months with two new characters on xbl...I've only ever killed one person in freemode in all that time and that was because I couldn't go passive as I had an npc bounty and I wanted the cash and RP so I very easily stopped him getting it and survived the bounty and went passive again...I even let him get close to me in the hope he'd give up but he tried to knife me so I whipped my shotty back out in double time...anyway the point is I just don't care to get involved in what I see as a complete waste of time but have on this profile enjoyed death matches a fair bit and my kd is about 1.35 but in freeroam I just cannot see any point to it whatsoever and being passive doesn't make me a "pussy" whatever the f*ck that means given its a computer game and targeting weak opponents to pad your kd is far more pussylike imho.

 

So you enjoy a game where there's no threat to you. None. You're safe wrapped up in your little passive blanket and sucking on your little passive binky. Sheltered and scared in your little haven of passiveness.

 

Aww. Hey at least you don't have to try and defend yourself against those big bad jets, or the other players online, playing GTA Online.. eh? Or take part in VIP events.. freeroam events..

Only option I picked is wall breaches, and it's the only option there anyone should pick tbh. Off the Radar? That's so other players can't see what you're doing, if you want to kill someone while off the radar then so be it. Jets? Those cannons and missiles are on there to kill people. I don't understand how someone is a pussy as long as they're not abusing abilities in the sense that they're using them how they shouldn't be used. Wall breaches, passive mode exiting then killing then entering again, RPG then kill yourself and any invisible body part(s) are a few examples. Anything else is fair game imo.

 

Kinda off topic, so you can ignore this little rant. I never understood passive mode, it's intent is to let players play without having to worry about being attacked by other players, I know. But what's the point? Can't you just join an Invite-Only Session where you can still use your weapons? The only thing it's good for is being abused!

Any form of hacking and cheating to kill other players is lame. I typically run around in passive mode for that exact reason. Theres seems to be a hacker in every lobby. I don't see why people get upset that others run around in passive mode, I often do, drive around, run Los Santos citizens over, block cops from shooting other players, follow other players around. Leave vehicles like tanks around. Not everyone in the game is a dick haha.

I disagree with you on the armoured KarmaCurryKoala point, it's something you can buy in the game and the more you've played, the more you can afford. Before the Kuruma, it was the reverse-Zentorno with 100% armour, so there will always be player vehicles that give you an advantage in battle, that's fine, because they all have weaknesses.

 

For example:

Kuruma/reverse Zent - use explosives, or get in your own

Insurgent - big windows, shoot the driver

 

Plus shoot-outs happen all the time in public free mode, I personally drive in my Kuruma or Insurgent if I'm nipping out to buy snacks and ammo in a public session, purely to prevent being killed by some random. That's not being a coward, that's being secure. There are so many scenarios we could debate.

 

Getting a free jet with infinite ammo and attacking everyone is just bullsh*t, however. Shouldn't be an option. R* f*cked up.

This is a PvP environment. If you want it to be impossible for other players to interact with you, then you need to go to a "friends and crew" session.

 

Even if we completely overlook all the ways there would be to grief with "passive mode in cars" (and there's a lot of them, which is why it doesn't exist), it's still a bad idea. There's only 16 slots in a public session, and none of them need to be wasted on someone who wants to be permanently invincible.

 

If you aren't going to interact with any of the other players, then you don't need them there, and they certainly don't need you there. I'm sure that's your idea of fun, that's why people use this glitch. But it's not fun for other people, which is why people make these threads.

 

 

Pulled this from one of the numerous threads on passive mode here. 2013 was a much better time in GTA (and this forum).
