Modify Gamepad Button Mapping?

Does anyone know how to change which commands are mapped to each xbox 360 button?

Or, instead or remapping them, just deleting the mappings of everything on the gamepad except for the analog sticks?

I have been able to do this with some games in the past by editing the config file, but I have no idea how to do it in GTA V.

5/28 UPDATE:

I have made some progress using OpenIV.

I can edit most of the gamepad controls through the 'Update.rpf->Common->Data->Control->Standard.meta' file. But some of the controls are located in the "common.rpf" file, and any changes I make to that seem to cause it to become corrupted.

Does anyone know how to edit the common.rpf properly? I think it might have to do with the fact that the meta files are not being re-encrypted after I edit them in Notepad++, but I don't know.

JUNE UPDATE:

The modified meta files from the common.rpf can be placed into their relevant locations inside of the update.rpf (NOT the common.rpf). And those modified meta files in the update.rpf override the vanilla files in the common.rpf.

I still haven't figured out how to remove the Rockstar Social Club popup from RB + Back. There are bindings for it in the common.meta, but so far my modifications to them haven't worked.

I can remap pretty much anything else though, so PM me if you want more info.

thanks for the response. I already use Xpadder & PGP. Those programs don't seem to be able to do what I need exactly.

As you say, I can map keyboard & mouse buttons onto the DS4. But that is only mapping those functions ON TOP of the commands that the game automatically maps to the DS4/360 controller, it doesn't REPLACE them.

Just as an example: Let's say I used Xpadder to map the jump command onto the left bumper button LB (L1 on PS). Pressing LB would activate the jump command, but it would also open the weapon wheel because there is no way to remove the original command from the button. This means that the remapping will not work well.

What I need is to edit the game files in such a way that the game no longer associates DS4/360 buttons with thier native commands. However, I do want to keep the native mapping of the analog sticks becasue Xpadder/PGP/Joy2Key can't emulate the movement and camera joysticks as well as the game does natively. Then I could use Xpadder to actually remap all the buttons, and still have proper analog stick control.

But thanks for the link. I will check it out and see if it can do what I need. Or maybe I can find out how to do it myself from the maker of that mod.

BTW, Joy2Key doesn't seem to work with GTA5. The mappings I make in J2K don't seem to have any effect in the game, but Xpadder & PGP work fine.

UPDATE:

It seems I don't need to modify the common.rpf to change the mapping for the rest of the buttons. All I need to do is modify the meta files from the common.rpf and then add them to the update.rpf, which seems to override the settings in the common.rpf.

Specifically, I modified the "standard tps.meta" file in the common RPF, and then simply added it to the Common > Data > Control folder of the update RPF using OpenIV.
