Dangerous and sad

The most difficult COPS are V's, no contest. However the most difficult wanted level of all was six stars in III. Get rammed by a tank and then have four soldiers atomise you with their minigun M16s.

Getting your vehicle rammed by a tank would mean an instant death. omg I hated that so much in the 3d era games.

Am I the only one who doesn't find GTA V's cop to be "difficult"? To me there's a difference between difficulty and being annoying. GTA V falls into the latter IMO.

The ridiculous rubber banding, psycic senses etc don't make them more difficult.

I'd have to vote for GTA III or VC in this regard.

Ultimately it would depend on your definition of difficult. Some would find III's Cops easy, others would find VC's Cops hard... :)

I think VC cops are the hardest in the series IMO. They are very difficult to escape and they are very aggressive, but V's are aggressive as well, but very annoying at the same time. Like I have said in my review for the game, cops in GTA V are difficult but very unecessary rubberbanding and Terminator AI ruined it for me.

There's many interpretations of course, but for me GTA III and VC are exceptionally hard because anything above two stars is impossible to escape from unless you use a Pay & Spray.

The f*ckers even throw down spike strips.

I kinda miss driving through the bribes. If there is no escaping the cop bungeed to your bumper then at least you could ward them off thusly.

I don't think 3D era cops are so difficult as long as you know how to deal effectively with the difficulty, as opposed to, GTA V which don't have many effective options to fight them before getting shot to death quickly -- like police bribes, more pay n sprays', variety of special vehicles, and armor/health pickups. Basically, 3D era cops were more interesting to have fun and cause mayhem.

V cops are absolutely aggressive in everything you do. Either hide to lose them, or just die! f*ckin' tired and boring cops to play with nothing interesting.

My vote goes to the cops of GTA V and secret agents in disguise of animals.

It's true you know. Re-quoted below.

The issue regarding the firing of suppressed pistols, maybe due to the fact that animals can contact police. From the "witnessinformation.meta" file;

<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?><CWitnessInformations>    <Personalities>        <Item key="Default">            <Flags>CanWitnessCrimes WillCallLawEnforcement</Flags>        </Item>        <Item key="Player" />        <Item key="Animal" />    </Personalities></CWitnessInformations>

I have used this quote so many times I have it Bookmarked. :)

But how do the animals call the police? That's what I never understood.

Because that's the way Rockstar set it up in 'Witnessinformantion.meta'. Also, animals are another NPC class.

That's not helping Phil, you just told me what's obvious. What im asking is how they're able to contact the police, I know dogs can alert cops by giving a simple bark (Guard dogs) but how about the other animals?

There is another file called "Crimeinformation.meta" that was not set up correctly (Thank you Yorpie). It's missing the following values for each crime;

<WitnessInformation>                <Flags>MustBeWitnessed</Flags>                <AdditionalFlagsForSP>MustNotifyLawEnforcement</AdditionalFlagsForSP>            </WitnessInformation>

Because of those missing values, crimes were being reported instantaneously.

Getting your vehicle rammed by a tank would mean an instant death.

That's what would usually happen. If the soldiers were polite enough to gentle nudge your vehicle and set it on fire, then when you escaped the vehicle they would atomise with their M16s.

The GTA III cops were great. While not hard, they were much better than those of Vice City, and they would ram your car all the time, eventually causing you to flee. If not that, they would at least try to run you over. I also love how the police could shoot while moving. The SWAT was okay. Not to mention the FBI... I think they were great. The army could kill you in seconds, which was also great. - DIFFICULTY: 6/10

The cops in GTA Vice City were pure morons... I don't know why they're voted this high. They can literally never hit you, and even if they do, it causes almost no damage. You could run from them all day long and still hardly die. Their A.I. is just awful. Not to mention the lack of driving skills. The army is just pathetic, and so are the FBI and SWAT. The only good thing about VC cops was the spikes. No challenge whatsoever. - DIFFICULTY: 2/10

The GTA San Andreas cops were well-balanced. They were neither too hard nor too easy, especially for newbies. They could actually aim AND drive well, unlike previous games, and coulda actually kill you, although not very fast. The FBI were the toughest. - DIFFICULTY: 5/10

The GTA IV & EFLC cops were... well... somewhat realistic. You could die a lot faster than in the previous games, especially if you don't take cover. In higher wanted levels more and more would spawn, eventually killing you in the end if you don't escape. The SWAT and FIB were great as well. Their GTA IV A.I. was vastly improved (although once you get used to GTA V cops, GTA IV suddenly becomes easy) - DIFFICULTY: 6.5/10

The GTA V cops were the best so far! While almost everyone critisizes them of being like Terminators or Robocops, they were easily the most challenging and intelligent cops so far. They could really aim and kill you pretty fast. They could drive pretty well. They could drive and aim, and could kill you during chases. They could pop your tires in a variety of ways, forcing you to flee. They take cover and actually work as teams, eliminating you quickly if you're being a Rambo.

Once the special forces and the helicoptes step in, the game becomes even harder. They would constantly pop your tires and try to ram you off the road. Even if you try to destroy the helicopter, it would be hard by just shooting the pilot, as they know what you're trying to do and will go even higher. The best option is to use a rocke launcher if you're going to destroy helicopters.

Of course, with the special abilities of Michael, Franklin, and especially Trevor, the game becomes much easier. Yet you still die a lot more than in previous GTA's. Maybe not the most realistic cops, but easily THE BEST cops in any GTA so far. - DIFFICULTY: 8/10

For me that was never the case. The Rhino would destroy my vehicle instantly.

A few times they hit me slow enough to roll my car and set it ablaze, but as soon as I got out the soldiers would shoot me almost instantly.

However most of the time yeah, the tank destroys the car immediately.
