Steam Version, can I run two different WIN7 accounts.

If I have two windows 7 accounts, and each have GTA Installed, is it possible to have one for mods and one for online? Same account just switching over to not get banned.

Having two accounts does not double your hard drive. Any change you make will transfer to the other account...

 

The only way to do this is a mod manager or a second install, im not sure if a second install would work.

Double my hard drive? You lost me. I have a partition and enough space, plus an external.

 

So then the question is would a double install work?

 

Windows always have a MY Documents folder for each user on windows. I log into WIN7 USER "ONLINE GUY", I play.

 

I switch to WIN7 User "MODDER" and then single player. See what I mean?

That should work if the installs are separate, and you can load them separately, yes - the game can be installed on multiple PCs just fine, and what you're doing is basically the same.

So then on the same PC two accounts can use my steam login and I can just switch between user accounts to play with the single player and the online? Since each login has it's own install?

The only difference you'll see on different Windows accounts is different save files and settings (stored in C:\Users\<username>\Documents\Rockstar Games\GTA V\).

 

You have the game installed only once in your Steam folder (probably C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\common\grand theft auto v\ or similar). So if you mod those files, the files will be the same on both Windows accounts.

 

If you want to have separate installs, you will have to make a copy of your GTA V folder (the one in the Steam folder). One folder will be for mods/singleplayer, and one for not-mods/online. Every time you want to switch, you'll have to rename the folders so that Steam (or shortcuts) loads the right one.

Again, that folder holds your save files, settings files, and a few other things, but not the game files.

It is possible, but complicated and unnecessary because you can do it with one Windows account too.

I have a fresh folder, I want to go online. I also want to mod,

 

If I copy the whole folder and call it "Modded GTA" and only use that folder when in my second windows 7 username is active wil that work since the documnets go elsewhere when I save, I know im probably confusing ppl.

If you want to separate saves between modded and unmodded single player saves, sure. For online it doesn't matter because your online character is saved to Rockstar servers, not your computer.
