sanJ.
Hey guys, i am new around here ( in fact, i made this account specifically to ask this question). I've recently encountered a problem with my GTA V, as it gets stuck on the loading screen. It makes my Xbox freeze, and i can only turn it off by pressing the power button on the console ( so the controllers also don't work when frozen). I have a 120GB Xbox 360 Elite, which is about 4 years (+- half a year) old. It plays all the other games i have smoothly, and GTAV is the only game which freezes. I don't think it is a problem with the disc, because i purchased a new one from gamestop, and it still freezes. I have tried other methods that i read about online, such as : 1) Clearing the system cache. 2) Deleting all extra save files. 3) Copying the save file to an external device, and then deleting it on the hard drive( to check if the save file was corrupted). I even cleared a lot of my media and game demos, and i have about 90GB free. I've also tried re-installing the game twice, and cleaned off all the dust from the surface of my console. However, none of these have seemed to help, as the game continues to get frozen on the loading screen. If any of you have encountered something similar, or have any ideas of how to make it work again, please inform me. I really want to get back in the game, and this just sucks, because i've spent about $90 to try and get a good game. Help is appreciated. Thanks guys ( Btw, it gets stuck when i'm playing offline. I haven't even tried online yet -.-)
RedDagger
This is really commonly a problem with the disc, even new ones - try cleaning it gently with a soft, preferably microfibre, cloth, and trying again.
sanJ.
okay thanks RedDagger, will do are the standard glasses cloths made from microfibre?
RedDagger
Not too sure, but they work fine for cleaning discs; microfibre is just a preference, normal cloth is okay if you're careful.
