Why do people feel entitled to ride in my car?

You will take me to the destination in your car because I am better than you.

Can we have a 'Dislike This' feature on forums? I kinda need it now.

Well, in my opinion people like you that flip off others that need a ride is pretty selfish and it shows you have no respect for teamwork.

And you use them as bullet sponges? That's even more selfish...

On a scale of 9/11, how butthurt are you?

Youre probably someone i left at the spawn :)

Maybe it's better that you don't reply at all if you haven't anything to say in regards to the topic. You don't contribute anything by making irrelevant and provocative posts.

As for the topic at hand, there is a myriad of reasons why some people prefer to let you drive, or why they would want to drive your car. One reason being that they have may have forgot their own car when they started the mission, which is what occasionally happened to myself. Another possible reason is that they want to see how you drive your car, i.e. how skilled you are and how the car you drive performs. Not to mention that the passenger(s) can focus on shooting, while you focus on driving, or vice versa.

If we're all going to the same place, what's the point in taking multiple cars? Save the planet man!

None of the cars looks good with full chrome paint. Seriously.

I see the chrome paint more like holding a sign above your head which says "watch me I've won 50 races I'm better than you" or something similar.

Also I find it more annoying when those retards try to smash you and pull you off the road while driving to the destination. I don't have a problem having a passenger because I can just kick them out (and never let back in) if they do something wrong.

i don't mind if the car is locked that means your driving to the check point and I'll walk. Easy money for me.

I only leave my car on Crew + Friends and only change it to Passenger if I feel like doing so (which is only sometimes.) I have had so many players just afk the moment they get in the passenger seat and left me to do all the work in the mission. If there's anything I hate, it's the type of player that don't do anything to help and expect to get paid. When that happens, I just leave the mission or also go afk and see what the other player does.

Maybe it's my type of thinking, but I don't get in another person's car unless they offer me a ride. If not, I just steal a random car off the street or call my mechanic. Seriously, it doesn't take much time to call the mechanic for a car anyway. That's why I don't usually allow others in my car.

You have the option to call your mechanic to deliver your car for a reason. Just saying. Also, I probably failed so badly with quoting this, so I apologize.

It's funny how pissy everyone gets over a computer game. The autism runs strong in this one.

As an addition to the topic: your car looks too good. When I drive my Zentorno, ~everyone wants to come with me. When driving Felon, they get their own cars. Simple as that.

Stealing PVs definitely yanks my chain. There is one very good reason to have passengers in your car, tho.

Passengers can auto-lock targets - drivers can't. I ride shotgun with randoms so that when they point their car at something, it dies.

I don't steal other people's rides, and never deliberately go into a mission without a 4-door. Setting access to 'passengers' solves the klepto issue.

Randoms who lock their cars completely and ditch passengers start the whole mission off on a bad foot. Plus they're usually the ones who go tearing off to the objective, get there alone and instantly die in a blaze of stupid.

to avoid showing up at random times, getting lost, driving into a river bed somehow, and for heists: to skip the drive all together.

the only one feeling entitled is you, like its such a task to drive with someone in your imaginary passenger seat. you obviously have no crew or friends in this game...

this. If you dont have a fast 4 door for missions or heist then f*ck you. I'll wait.

"teamwork"

also, this is the same reason people die over and over, and refuse to use a mic... its not like we are forcing conversation, for christ sakes it just makes game play easier. mute it instead of breathing heavy, and give other players rides. this could all be avoided in the pre game lobby...

OP you're blowing this way out of proportion. Here's what I do in missions: it's my car so it's passenger only (don't care if friend or random), I don't let the fact that a player attempts to enter my car through the driver's side aggravate me. They wanted to drive but they found out real quick how I roll. I will still gladly give them a ride. Teamwork is key, no use in leaving them behind while you eat bullets at the objective (it's funny because you said that's what you use randoms for). I agree that 60% of randoms are pricks in missions, just observe their behavior and quit/kick them if they become an issue. Those type of people are the ones you drive off from. Now don't go replying with a meme at me -_-

Can we stop pretending that OP wasn't a giant, trolling, douche before they even started this thread?

Anyways, "passenger only" pretty much makes this a non issue. Don't like driving people around? Holy sh*tballs there's an option for that, too.

Basically, all you're complaining about is virtual people touching your virtual car in a video game. Then you wait for valid reasons why you're just a whiny bitch so you can reply with dated and overused memes in an attempt to bait people into feeding you. Too bad you haven't received the anger incited responses you typically thrive on, hence why you're still trolling for "victims" with your nonsensical crap.

Why hasn't this been locked yet? Even if it were originally a valid issue worthy of discussion, it has long since drifted from any rationale and topicality.

Solid Scorpion

I used to be a dick, lock my doors and drive off as my friend was trying to get in. I stopped doing it after I accidentally ran his foot over.

As for in-game my cars always set to passengers unless I can't be arsed to drive and I set it to everyone.

Yeah it is annoying if someone drives off in your pv and strands you.

Just order it back off the mechanic and either pick them up or give them a toot as you drive past their stranded ass.

In missions I usually drive my car and dont care who seats as passengers, and usually leave someone to drive it, so I change the role and dont get bored driving in missions. I think is a good way to let others tests cars they dont have.

Also there are kind ppl that thanked you after the mission for letting drive your car.

Can we have a 'Dislike This' feature on forums? I kinda need it now.

I can see why you'd dislike this but I don't understand why you're brushing this off as some sort of spam/stupid thread. It's a real issue in GTA:O: everyone playing that game is a c*nt and they will act like an immature child when your car door is locked.

Having no PV is understandable. They might be too poor to own one or it just blew up and haven't called it in yet. With the flood of new players, I'm not surprised to give rides to others. I always set it to Passengers so they can ride in but whenever I'm busy with the mission, they'll sometimes steal my car but unable to drive it. I'll then get a "Your PV has been destroyed" message. I've stopped using my normal PV vehicles for missions, only using the Insurgent. That way they'll have to waste a bunch of ammo to destroy it as well as paying 16K for the insurance. The plus is that people run towards it for a free ride. The negative side is that there's a lot of lazy people who don't want to drive and the Insurgent can comfortably sit most, if not all, players. *sigh* Nothing makes you feel like a team player when you're the one driving everywhere and the others don't even bother shooting enemies chasing us.

*edit*

I will say that OP made a good thread but replies to all valid posts as someone who just discovered memebase. What an asshole. :/

No, actually, if it's locked I just seek out a new vehicle. It's GTA... there's like cars everywhere.

Sometimes I won't take a P.V with me because I can't be bothered driving it back to the garage when the mission is completed.

With all the racing I do, I don't mind the side seat to rank up a bit on the passenger award.

Can't say for missions, but in free roam I enjoy when folks jack my vehicle. It's great watching them go Mach 10 down the highway, only to be stopped, thrown out & have the car disappear before their eyes as I request it. XD

More often than not, they will end up shooting at traffic, making it THAT much harder to get to the objective, or they will throw explosives out like candy at a parade netting you 3 stars on a cop-sensitive mission when you just spent 3-5 minutes losing your previous wanted level. Tell me thats not annoying as f*ck and your a damned lie.

Well I must be weird cause when I drive I never had such issues, but instead found people who drive you a while till you're far enough from your vehicle and far enough from destination and then kick you from their vehicle there.

Or people who race to destination to try to do everything themselves.

Or people who arrive first and put their car as a roadblock to avoid to you get there or to make you drive around and lose time.

People who smash/explode your car/bike before you can enter and then they speed away.

People who try to flatten you before you hop in a car, cause when you're in there's no friendly fire.

Basically they're morons everywhere, and if you can't stand that, you better avoid interacting with anyone, online or real life, ever again.

If you're playing coop you're already expecting the better of everyone, and most of the times they give it. Driving a passenger gives auto-aim to them, and the certainty of staying close to work together. Two big reasons who most of adults understand and respect, cause it's common sense.

Common sense.

Im a mission guy, and typically i run missions with randoms, not because i want to play with a team, but because i see them as bullet sponges, its nice not being the only one getting shot at.

Anyways, 9/10 times i do a mission there is at least one person with or without their PV, and that person ALWAYS runs to the drivers side of my car only to find it locked, then they go to the passengers side assuming that ill let them ride with me after i just watched them try to drive off with my car - then they have the nerve to get pissy and shoot my car as i drive away...

I dont usually let anyone ride in my car unless they are a friend, or ive done enough missions with them to know they arent a total scrublord and wont be a c*nt on the way to the objective.

So, you players who are too lazy to drive your own damn car, tell me why you feel entitled to ride in other players cars whn you undoubtedly have a garage full of chromed out zentornos with dollar sign rims.

Cause the game's called "Grand THEFT AUTO". lol
