when was the last double xp and cash event? like a back in 2014 or 2013 yup it's long over due for a event like this.

 

it was only one time this event happened and it was success everyone was grinding rr and getting money as well ranking up.

 

 

inb4 cash cards theories and "thats why we have heist for"

I been thinkin the same thing lately. I mean sh*t all they do is flip a few switches right? What the hell are they waiting for, everyone to just say f*ck it lets go play something else?

Seriously the games been out a long ass time now, for many its gotten very old. Why not just give the players what they want already before they really do leave.

R logic never ceases to amaze me.

They dont need to release anything new yet. They only put out DLC when the sales of game copies and cash cards slow down. With PC just released, i wouldnt expect a slow down for another few weeks.

it's slowed down on consoles as for pc they do have a bit more life due to sp mods.

i'm hoping for some patriotic events at 4th of july

someone wants to go beer hat hunting again lol. luckily I got them all lol.

maybe x1.5 or 1.25.....but i woudnt expect more untill we are 5 years from now or so

Red Dead Redemption held that standard, making double XP events for so long - I joined a few and everyone was always in Pike's Basin grinding that hideout over and over again. It was what the airport is to GTA IV. It could get people back in the game and help out those legit players who want to buy new stuff. What's more important: players buying cash cards or players playing the game more to afford new stuff, then itching for new DLC/updates? I can't speak for everyone but if I bought a cash card and bought what I want in-game, I'd feel cheated and wouldn't want to waste any money, real or virtual, on any new items added in the game. Again, just my opinion. Cash cards are always there, double XP events aren't. I don't see how R* could lose in such a scenario. :)

yes the system is broke and all but i really like the damn special crates, even more when crates contain shirts and stuff, the craze get real!

lol don't you have every event item already? I grabbed the missing shirts I needed from xmas event. unless they add new items that's the items from events which were released in Dec and past months. plus expect lag switch lobbies or people spiking their net to kick everyone.

I guess they don't feel the need to do these kind of events since the heists DLC.

I agree it would be nice to have another event like that though.

i couldnt play 1 day during christmas so im missing the Base5 shirt and yes i know about the lag switch stuff, thats how get my stuff, its easier when you dont have to fight hahaha

 

its not about the items, i just enjoy seen the craze ingame and with the mandatory special crate threads that popup here.

That competition closes on June 8th, and the GTA Online splash screens are constantly advertising this - it wouldn't be good for the splash screens to be showed on the 9th after the event, even though this has happened in the past.

We also had the other article where we caught a glimpse of the Desert Eagles new weapon skin as well as the Benefactor (Mercedes) Sports Classics Gullwing car, so we know something is coming soon.

Wasn't the last Double Cash/RP event held a week before the High Life update came out so that we could rack up enough cash to buy all the new sh*t?

 

I remember that weekend, my phone would get a Rooftop Rumble invitation like every 5 seconds lol, so much farming of RR :D but the 36k cash and 5k rp every 5 minutes was so worth it

I'd rather have a crate event like stuff I missed. A few beer hats, radio shirts, and the High Flyer Parachute Bag(Before somebody bitches about "You should have done the playlist", my Live expired right before it started and I didn't get paid until the next week so I missed out. I didn't have any two day trial codes on hand either).

 

 

I can see something happening during the Summer though. I'm going to lag switch if we do get crates. All those squeakers at home all day and night, staying up....... I'll rather skip the BS fighting over a shirt 100+ times until I get one

Last dbl money XP I remember was in June 2014 bc I was sick the week they did it and didn't make much money.

As a dedicated GTA0 player, I heartily agree wih the OP that its way past due for a 2xRP, 2x$$ weekend. But unfortunately, I think that, rather than encouraging gameplay, Rockstar has decided to let GTA0 wind down and disappear.

 

I think that after the heists were released (which were waaaaaay over the development budget), the TTWO accountants froze all further support and development of GTA0, including server maintenance. There can be no other explanation for the pitiful state of the servers. As @StangOne50 says above, it seems like they are driving players away to other games.

Agree, but what I really want is an opportunity to buy all of the Independence Day stuff I lost when I Sophie's Choiced my 1st character. I really enjoyed the musket-based deathmatches, as well.

Long overdue for the events. I don't think it'll happen due to the increasing verified jobs and heists. Maybe we'll get a good dlc with the double xp events.

I totally doubt there will be cash multiplier events anymore. They never encourage you that anyway.

 

Even RP, probably it'd be just on activities people don't care of a playlist of random custom jobs.
