Next big thing that really needs to be added already.

There exists a magical place in Grand Theft Auto 5 that many have yearned to have access to: North Yankton. There use to be a glitch to access it but that's been patched for ages. Only the use of mods will get you there. So getting to my point, I believe R* should implement a major update that gives us access to the North Yankton part of the game as a map expansion. There's also a no brainer way to do it: make the airport actually function. We should be able to take a plane to North Yankton. The cost for the flight could be a couple grand I guess. I know there's probably a question of where we'll land. Instead of "landing" somewhere, there should be a cut scene of our player flying there (kinda like how we got into GTA Online). From there the screen cuts to our player getting out a taxi at a location somewhere in North Yankton (wherever would make the most sense). If something like this were to ever be added, it would be a huge thing, I don't know if it would go smoothly on last gen though. I also believe that like the regular portion of the map, there should be activities up at NY. Allowing us to pick up the snow and throw it would be a plus as well.

 

I'm sory if there is already a thread like this one out there, I just thought of this today. What are your opinions on it?

It would feel broken, what happens when you get to the edge of the map and it all pixelates. It would be terrible and ruine the illusion of the game, kind of like watching a film but seeing the crew and edge of sets poking out, no one would release it. The only way they would bring in North yankton would be to expand the map considerably and add features which make it believable and useful.

Knowing R* and their inabilities to check things before implementing them, there would probably be a bug that causes your game to crash or do something even more annoying.

 

I would like this though, maybe give NY some exclusives like, different clothes, exclusive cars that only spawn there, exclusive weapons and other stuff that you would have to travel there to obtain.

If I need to fly there via the airport by spending some money then I expect North Yankton to be the same size as Los Santos or slightly bigger.

All honestly I don't see it happening, not for online anyways. I think it would be cool change of pace but I have my doubts.

It's in the game but not textured fully probably because it was only meant for the prologue only. They can finish off the map and release it as a map expansion if you will. It's a reasonable possibility.

This is already in the game. All you have to do is buy 10 Megalodon Shark Cards and know a guy who knows a guy who knows a guy who knows a guy who knows a guy who knows a guy who went to school with Lazlow. I've had this unlocked for a very long time and it's 100% legit...honest.

It was quite small and if you reached a certain edge you would fall through the ground.

No, some parts of it were not functioning. Like the outskirts had broken/invisible walls and roads. I went to NY with a friend. It was an easy two person glitch to get to it.

 

 

 

 

We set up a drag race and just drove round. These are just 3 pics but I have several more. When your car went over the snow, it left good size tracks which remained visible as long as you were within view. Other things I remember, there was a working day and night cycle. It looked pretty nice. There were one or two places that had spawning peds. If you got stars, police would come as they would normally.

The NY expansion doesn't count to the actual map of San Andreas we have already. I believe the suggestion is built upon having North Yankton as a seperate map, in a seperate session. I can't see in any way how this should degrade the servers further.

why the f*ck people want to go to a boring place like north yankton is beyond me.

seriously, most players dont even know half of the map

hell to be honest, i sertainly dont even know everything that can be seen intto the city for sure.

whenever the tread apears were people show of special places most other players probably dont know......on almost each page there is something i didnt notice yet or a place i didnt even knew existed.

 

if anything, we need more high rank unlocks....i have much money but noting to spend it on

also i woud love some weapons that give me enough power again to dominate any player that isnt of an equal ranked level(when i was ranked 150 i was always able to dominate sessions....just because most people werent 120 yet

and i can always own or atleast be an equal to anyone that doesnt have a minigun yet somehow.

 

also lets be honest, if they ever brought out a new super car.....it woud be amazing if it was level locked to like rank 200

I hope to see North Yankton make an appearance in GTA: Online. As North Yankton isn't part of San Andreas, perhaps Rockstar should implement an airport system. Pay for your flight and watch a small cutscene as you jet your way up north.

Rockstar has been working to release the North Yankton map for many months, but it's taking them a lot longer than expected to fill in the ocean around it. I think they are still working on the coral reefs and kelp beds.
