Alexander Blade
GTA V CLASSIC HANDLING DescriptionClassic Handling makes car controls and physics the way it was in GTA IV.Features - based on the original GTA IV handling - affects only cars - includes dlc cars - features normal deformationDownload here Video from taltigolt from MIXAZZZ https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VkgXGxjR6Hc Edited June 25, 2015 by TJGM buzzbass, BloortTot, spaceshape and 25 others
redheadpapa
I like the idea but the way cars handle in GTAIV is in no way, shape or form real-world like realistic, so perhaps it would be wiser to make it somewhere in between? SilverRST
The only thing that really bothers me is when the tyres touches the sidewalk. It looks so awkward. I'm talking about the original GTAV handling. After seeing those videos, it's still the same when the tyres touches the sidewalks, feels brick-ish. I have no idea why R* made cars so stiff in V! Because a lot of idiots were complaining like outstanding little girls, those GTAIV handling really acts like boatds and hard to control. I always liked GTAIV handling, they are challenging and the damages are also damn good, it's always awesome and I always try not to damage my favorite cars. The driving in GTAIV when doing missions are really thrilling and full of adrenalin. Smokey7, Zock, Igor Bogdanoff and 4 others

I can see this type of physics and handing creating all sorts of problems in GTA V Online. R* have to make something that pleases everyone. But that's why I love to play on PC, theres always people like the guys from OpenIV team, LCPDFR and a bunch of very talented modders out there that make all these mods possible. Danny-Vain
I posted this on the comment section for the taltigolt video thought it would be appropiate here too. Theres always been a divide between GTA players because of the driving mechanics in GTA IV and V, 50% like GTA IV Driving and other 50 prefer GTA V. This is why mods exist so it can cater to those who want to drive how they like. I personally prefer GTA IV to V, its not perfect and I do agree that they rock side to side too much on some occasions but the overall feel especially at high speeds felt more realistic because you couldnt take a turn at 150 mph. This might be why people dont like it, thinking realism is taking the fun factor out, but I think that makes it quite challenging and once practiced can make some decent driving in GTA IV and fun too as it feels more rewarded than the easy driving in GTA V. kerwasa
Every night since GTA V release when I lay myself in bed I pray. I pray to our Modding God. I always thank him for Asi loader, Native Trainer, Script Hook V and many other gifts for people. In my prayers I ask him if he can find solution to: fix auto-countersteering assist on the vehicles, fix auto-brake on vehicles (when you let of the gas), fix inertion and weight shifting, fix motorcycle physics, add ability to deform doors and roof. I know those things are hard-coded and can only be harnessed by The Chosen One. I hope one morning I wake up and I'm happy again. I am happy because GTA V driving physics is finally enjoyable. Darth_Starkiller
Wow, this mod is great. I have some constructive criticism however. Cars that are too wobbly: - Picador* (top priority, really. It looks ridiculous) - Gauntlet* - Alpha - Exemplar** - Felon** - Jackal** - Rocoto*** - FQ 2*** - JB 700*** * REALLY wobbly ** Not too much, but still noticeable *** Is also too light Cars that are too heavy - Penumbra - Zion - Fusilade - Dubsta 6x6 (also needs much improved brakes) - Bodhi (same thing as above) The Carbonizzare also oversteers a lot, specially on the rear. The Bucanner has the rear suspension far too high. The Police Interceptor feels very weird to drive. Other suggestions that aren't really necessary, but would still be an improvement would be making the Tornado handle more like the Manana and Peyote, and make the Huntley S feel more like the Huntley Sport in IV, since it always felt somewhat like it even in vanilla, both in looks and handling. SilverRST
I'm not gonna lie. When I first read the topic title and then the creator of the topic, I found it weird Alexander Blade created this topic as he normally doesn't do that, not even for such a handling mod. He basicly do scripting. So I thought he managed to convert some GTAIV mechanics codes of the handling algorithm to GTAV lol.
jippa_lippa
Awesome mod! Only 2 questions: 1- Is handling for bikes/planes/boats the exact same one as the original game? Because i loved how bikes behaved in IV 2- Am i still able to steer the car in mid air? Thanks a lot <

jippa_lippa
Great Work Alex, but i'd like to give some constructive criticism, if you don't mind. I loved playing in GTA IV, but this handling just doesn't fell right for GTA V. I don't know how, but cars seem way too slow and heavy, even more than they were in GTA IV. Also the damage, as much as it looks awesome, feels too sensitive. In IV i had to really damage the car before one wheel got stuck, while in V, with this handling, even the smallest impact causes a wheel to get stuck. Basically you can't drive your car for more than 2 minutes before having to fix it with the trainer. I am almost sure the problem is the game itself, and not the modders (who did a terrific job) It kinda feels like the V physics engine just doesn't work well with GTA IV settings. I think a complete rework of the physics engine is necessary to really appreciate IV's handling. For example most of the cars almost don't turn, while in GTA IV did (even tough they wobbled a lot) The best example is using the Imponte Ruiner (car available both in IV and V), in V (with this mod) is almost undrivable. (The ruiner has always been my favourite GTA IV car, so i know its handling well ^^) Still great effort! Don't get me wrong ^^ Edited May 28, 2015 by jippa_lippa

cp1dell
What do you mean by "normal deformation?" Like you didn't touch those settings at all, or is deformation normal now by IV's standards? Any plans to change the handling for boats, planes/helicopters, and bikes so they're like how they were in IV/EFLC? I mention EFLC because the bike handling in it was better than it was in IV. CristianoL.
Can someone do a script for removing the auto-countersteering in vehicles? A car is auto-countersteering only when the player is not steering on purpose. So I thought that a script that turn the wheels very slightly to the left then to the right (many times per second) only when not steering on purpose could fix this. PM me if you can do this. thanks
