Medeiros
I've been browsing through the forums and seeing all these threads regarding graphics and performance. It seems lots of people here own high-end graphics cards, like the 780 Ti, 970, 980 and even the Titan X (some even in SLI). Unfortunately for me, I don't, but I can't complain much about what I have. It's a GTX 750 Ti (ASUS 2GB PH Edition). I currently play GTA V on 1440x900 (16:10) 75Hz, since I'm saving money for a proper 16:9 monitor that will allow me to play in 1080p, but I'm already guessing I'll have to use a lower resolution to maintain a good balance between quality and performance.Anyway, I'd like to ask fellow 750 Ti (or similar) users, what settings do you use in-game and in the NVIDIA Control Panel? Currently I have a mix of settings in Very High and High, in-game v-sync is off, and in the advanced graphics I only have the HD streaming while flying setting on. NVIDIA GeForce Experience suggests way higher settings that surpass the in-game GPU memory bar, and turns on extended shadows and stuff like that... Currently I can play at 60-75 FPS, sometimes dropping to 50. I'll take a screenshot of my in-game settings later, but until then, here's what's on my settings.xml file: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?><Settings> <version value="27" /> <configSource>SMC_AUTO</configSource> <graphics> <Tessellation value="0" /> <LodScale value="1.000000" /> <PedLodBias value="1.000000" /> <VehicleLodBias value="1.000000" /> <ShadowQuality value="3" /> <ReflectionQuality value="2" /> <ReflectionMSAA value="0" /> <SSAO value="1" /> <AnisotropicFiltering value="16" /> <MSAA value="0" /> <MSAAFragments value="0" /> <MSAAQuality value="0" /> <TextureQuality value="1" /> <ParticleQuality value="1" /> <WaterQuality value="1" /> <GrassQuality value="2" /> <ShaderQuality value="2" /> <Shadow_SoftShadows value="5" /> <UltraShadows_Enabled value="false" /> <Shadow_ParticleShadows value="true" /> <Shadow_Distance value="1.000000" /> <Shadow_LongShadows value="false" /> <Shadow_SplitZStart value="0.930000" /> <Shadow_SplitZEnd value="0.890000" /> <Shadow_aircraftExpWeight value="0.990000" /> <Shadow_DisableScreenSizeCheck value="false" /> <Reflection_MipBlur value="true" /> <FXAA_Enabled value="true" /> <TXAA_Enabled value="false" /> <Lighting_FogVolumes value="true" /> <Shader_SSA value="true" /> <DX_Version value="2" /> <CityDensity value="0.400000" /> <PedVarietyMultiplier value="0.400000" /> <VehicleVarietyMultiplier value="0.400000" /> <PostFX value="1" /> <DoF value="false" /> <HdStreamingInFlight value="true" /> <MaxLodScale value="0.000000" /> <MotionBlurStrength value="0.000000" /> </graphics> <system> <numBytesPerReplayBlock value="9000000" /> <numReplayBlocks value="36" /> <maxSizeOfStreamingReplay value="1024" /> <maxFileStoreSize value="65536" /> </system> <audio> <Audio3d value="false" /> </audio> <video> <AdapterIndex value="0" /> <OutputIndex value="0" /> <ScreenWidth value="1440" /> <ScreenHeight value="900" /> <RefreshRate value="75" /> <Windowed value="0" /> <VSync value="0" /> <Stereo value="0" /> <Convergence value="0.100000" /> <Separation value="0.000000" /> <PauseOnFocusLoss value="0" /> <AspectRatio value="6" /> </video> <VideoCardDescription>NVIDIA GeForce GTX 750 Ti</VideoCardDescription></Settings> And here's a screenshot of my control panel settings:I'm sure that some settings - power management mode, threaded optimisation, triple buffering and vertical sync - are properly configured, but can someone tell me if the others are the best for my card? Should shader cache be on? Should the pre-rendered frames be 1 or 3? What about all the anti-aliasing and texture filtering settings?I can also overclock the GPU using ASUS GPU Tweak, and here's my settings on it: Is it too much? Not enough? Any recommendations? >tl;dr would like some tips on what to do to make GTA V as good looking as possible, while maintaining at least an average of 55-60 FPS. Tips are welcome regarding my in-game, control panel and overclock settings. Thanks in advance and sorry for the long post!P.S.: you can check my specs in the link in my signature, but for a quick overview: i7-4790, 8GB DDR3 RAM, GTX 750 Ti Edited May 23, 2015 by Medeiros

Ok i lied, it drops to 56fps sometimes Don't forget that the 760 is way faster than the 750 Ti. The only advantage on my side is that this consumes much less energy, but I wouldn't mind in exchange for all that power... Hello , fellow 750 ti user. My settings are: (...) The game runs pretty good. 40-60 fps. Hey man, thanks for this! It seems you're using higher settings than me in most things, as evidenced by this: https://www.diffchecker.com/noxttkcu I'll try your settings out. I'd also like to ask you (and any other person with 750 Ti) a few questions: -what's your CPU? -what version do you have of the 750 Ti? (i.e. EVGA, ASUS OC, ASUS PH, etc.) -did you overclock your 750 Ti? -what's your NVIDIA Control Panel settings? -what resolution are you playing on? Thanks in advance! --- Edit --- I just tested it and I get 50 FPS on average while driving around the city with KogerOnControls' settings. Koger
I'd also like to ask you (and any other person with 750 Ti) a few questions: -what's your CPU? Intel Core i5 4460 3.2 GHz -what version do you have of the 750 Ti? (i.e. EVGA, ASUS OC, ASUS PH, etc.) Gigabyte GTX 750 Ti 2x Windforce -did you overclock your 750 Ti? No. Not since I got my i5. I might overclock it in the future. -what's your NVIDIA Control Panel settings? Power management mode is set to 'Prefer maximum performance'. V-sync is set to 'Adaptive'. Everything else is on its default setting. -what resolution are you playing on? I'm playing on 1920x1080. Thanks in advance! --- Edit --- I just tested it and I get 50 FPS on average while driving around the city with KogerOnControls' settings. I'm happy to see that it's working fine for you with my settings. You might want to turn texture quality to 'High' if you don't have over 4GB of RAM. I have 4GB and after 2-3 hours it starts stutter every 20-30 seconds. At that point I just restart the game. I like my 'Very High' textures. Hopefully I'll be getting 4 more GB of RAM soon. Ah, the damn stuttering, I get it even with the medium graphic settings after some hours... although it did get a lot less frequent after extensive tweaking in and out of the game, and with driver updates. I checked out your 750 Ti and noticed it had a 1215 clock, so I overclocked my own to match that, as well as the memory (5500 Mhz) for some extra frames.
