tommi_6o
Yesterday I swapped my old gtx 670 sli to Titan X sli. The game was running just fine with the old gpus and gpu usage was between 80% and 95%. Now with my Titan X sli my gpu usage is 50% and my fps fluctuates from 50-100. I would greatly appreciate any help.

mohijavata
I suspected it was a cpu bottleneck, but with that one it is surely eliminated. Try to uninstall thoroughly with driver sweeper, also you can try another driver version and lastly, for now, try to lower grass quality because it is known to hog the performance, also try to lower MSAA if it is set higher than x4 Edited May 23, 2015 by mohijavata

The weird thing is it was working very well with my old gtx 670 sli (70-100fps) with 2x MSAA and grass at very high and some advanced options turned on. I'm now reinstalling the game. If that doesn't work I'll reinstall windows.

philbeau
Wierd because I get about the same fps on i7 4770k @4.6 too and a single gtx titan black. 4xmsaa, advanced options turned on, mix of high and really high settings. Clearly you won't run out of vram. How much system ram do you have?

mahanddeem
CPU bottleneck. 3770K at 4.6 ghz is not a good cpu for 2 titans. I had 2 980s with a 3770k and no matter what clock you use gpu usage was never past 50-60%. Use DSR 4x that will increase usage to around 90%. But dont expect 100+ fps (especially in graphic and cpu intensive games). An x99 and 5820k or 5930k would be a better match with 2 titans. Especially with 28+ pci lanes. illypso
I had a probleme similar to yours, http://gtaforums.com/topic/790077-ram-speed-affect-fps/?do=findComment&comment=1067385847 I did get a ticket with ROCKSTAR, there answer where that GTAV is not designe for more than 60fps. It can do it but they never intended for more than 60 so its not well optimise for more than 60 so it may not use your high GPU power. I did find that the RAM speed was affecting my gpu usage and that in my case it was the bottleneck and the drop belllow 60 where gone after tuning my ram. Try to overclocking the ram speed and monitor your average FPS to see if its a bottleneck. For me the only way I could get my 2 GPU to 100% was with DSR put a 4K. i'm getting a nice 60 fps, ( i had to lower some setting but there no real difference and 4K dsr give me the best AA in all my test) Hope it help Edited May 23, 2015 by illypso

I tried DSR and it helped a lot to stabilize framerate and get better gpu usage.
Crystal3lf
Yesterday I swapped my old gtx 670 sli to Titan X sli. The game was running just fine with the old gpus and gpu usage was between 80% and 95%. Now with my Titan X sli my gpu usage is 50% and my fps fluctuates from 50-100. I would greatly appreciate any help. If 2x670's were running at 80-95% what makes you think 2xTitans will run at 80-95%? Why would a obscenely more powerful GPU run the same as a 670? Put it this way. If you had 1 car with 100HP and another car with 1000HP, but it only takes 100HP to reach 100km/h, why would the 1000HP car use all the 1000HP to get to 100km/h under the same conditions? Sorry but SLI Titans are very silly to be running games on at only 1080p. I can guarantee that if you had 2k, or 4k monitors the GPU usage would go up. As for the FPS fluctuation, try permanently disabling nVidia's Streaming service, gave me 10-20FPS increases. Try disabling SLI and see what the FPS is like, if it still goes from 50-100 then it's probably not something to do with GTA V. I know someone with SLI 980's and he gets constant 200FPS+ @4k, I myself with a single 970 get 80-120FPS @1080p. I don't have my third monitor on my desk now so I can't run surround and I will be buying dell 5k monitor. The problem is gta 5 maxed out with two Titan Xs runs at 50fps while gpu usage is only 50%. I couldn't find nvidia streaming service in task manager services tab. Edited May 24, 2015 by tommi_6o

tommi_6o
I tried it with a single card and my GPU usage was 90-98% which it should be. In sli whit max settings at 1080p my gpu usage was dropping to 50%. If I lowered some settings like AA from 8xMSAA to 2xMSAA and used nvidia DSR to run the game at about 2700x1500 (can't remember the exact resolution because I'm not on my gaming rig at the moment) I got 80-95% gpu usage. For some reason when upping the settings gta 5 won't utilise your GPUs more but if you use higher resolution GPU usage will be much higher. I still got some more testing to do.
