Trabman
Hello, I would first off like to sincerely apologize if this has been posted in the wrong place, as I am a new member of the forum, and to be honest am not exactly sure on how to navigate through everything yet. Anyways, today, around an hour ago, I was trying to figure out how to use BroXe's Mod Launcher (I unfortunatly gave up after the modded and unmodded GTA V folders didn't load correctly, my incompetence is the reason ). After fiddling with that, I opened up my modded and unmodded folders to check to make sure if they were, well, modded and unmodded, and I noticed a file named "x64e.rpf.part" in the modded folder. I immediately assumed the worst and did a quick scan with Window's Defender and Avast, but the programs found nothing suspicious with this file. The file size when opening the file's properties read that there are 0 bytes of data on there, and I am unable to open this file with the Open IV tool. I have deleted this file, and it is currently in my recycle bin. Here is a screenshot of the file: Is my computer infected? Do I have a virus? Am I just paranoid? Can anyone help, please? I appreciate any assistance from the community on this. Also, I am sorry if I'm just being dumb here.
Craigsters
If it's launched through steam , just click on that part file and delete it and run Verify Integrity of Game Cache from the local files tab, and usually if it's steam, it re-downloads it Also when downloaded mods etc always keep a copy of the url it's from and creator of said mod's and the original download file on your desktop in a folder, so you can refer back to it and compare files, you'd be able to track it back to the original download easily this way!.. Trabman
I've already deleted the file prior to posting, thanks. However, I'm not using it through steam, as I have the disc version. Any ideas on how to go about verifying the game's integrity with having a disc installation? Oh, and thanks for the tip about tracking downloads, I think I might start a list in a text file and put everything an a single GTA downloads folder on my desktop. DigitalNikki
Create a shortcut to GTAVLauncher.exe and add " -verify" after .exe" For me the target box looks like "D:\Games\Grand Theft Auto V\GTAVLauncher.exe" -verify
