Mod has been updated to V2.0.

 

Hey Cyron,

 

Is there a possibility to add a spawn driver option (button), instead of switching the AlwaysDriveYourself tag within the XML? Thanks man, this mod just gets better and better!

 

Another thing would be to add a button for switching seats, so they can ride in the back. Currently this can be worked around if you hit J, then again to stop the driver, then hit it again real quick you can move to the left rear seat, perfect for a stretch :)

I put it on the todo list but I'm not happy with it because the more keys this mod occupies the more likely it will lead to conflicts with other mods. Yes you can configure all keys but still. :-/

 

EDIT: Compromise: I leave the driver spawning as it is but I'll add a cycle passenger seat key.

 

Fantastic work... I absolutely love seeing the progress of this one and I'm just sorry I haven't had more time to try to contribute.

I did have one idea on the driver topic that I was working on implementing myself but just haven't found the time.

What if in the config you have spawn driver enabled, then code check if all seats are filled (ie bodyguards) and if so then simply have the player drive himself. If seats are available to rotate, then the script can spawn the random driver.

The only other thing I felt was important for this feature was figuring out how to give the player control for shooting yet still perform the autodrive tasks.

Seat redistribution is already implemented since the GTA IV version. The only thing that needs to be done is that I let the user decide (switch) which seat the player character is being placed on. Currently it's always right front.

Shooting while driving is also on the todo-list already. :)

I have the latest scripthook and your mod.. the autopilot works while walking but whenever I use it inside the car it says "stopping.." I wonder why.. Can you sort it out for me? thanks. I have installed Gtalua, lua for the other vehicle driving mod where I can also use autopilot but your auto pilot seems better.. Can you help me fix this. Much appreciated.

The Scripthook was broken yesterday because of the Patch that Rockstar Games pushed on us. I have just downloaded the new one and I have to see what has changed and I will probably have to make some adaptions. I will notify you all once everything is back to normal.

 

EDIT: So, I need some details from you because I have just tested Autodrive with a fully patched game and the latest native scripthook release and it works fine.

1. Have you patched your game yesterday?

2. If so, did you install the updated native scripthook?

3. What is "the latest scripthook"? Do you mean the latest native scripthook or the latest .net scripthook (ScriptHookVDotNet)?

4. In case you mean the latest .net scripthook, the term "latest" could be wrong because there are two different versions on the internet. One is V0.9 from the github repository and one is an unofficial release (a so called nightly build) at appveyor which is updated every few hours.

The mod was working for me, until the update that changed the folder to my documents. Can you link me to an older version?

The download is still compatible with the game before the patch. Nothing needed to be changed. :)

I am unable to reproduce this error. Please open the ScriptHookVDotNet.log and look for any errors regarding the Autodrive mod. If you find any then please copy&paste it here. One question though: Are you playing with a keyboard or a game controller? The latter is not supported.

@louane: It looks like you have an outdated version of the ScriptHookVDotNet installed. Please try the one from appveyor. You find the link in my first post on page one.

Also make sure you have the VCommonFunctions.dll (part of the download) copied into the Scripts folder as well.

Hello louane,

the official release version (what you call the classic version) of the .net scripthook will have breaking changes to the current official release V0.9. You will notice this by an increment of the major version number (the number left of the point). V1.0 will have all the features implemented which the nightly builds have and more. Of course I will adapt Autodrive to the new official release once it's out. What a coincidence. The official V1.0 of the .net scripthook has just been released and Autodrive is compatible. So no worries. :)

As other's have already said, it would be nice if I could shoot while autopilot is on, as sometimes I'll have an aggressive AI driver after me and it would be nice to take care of them without cancelling out of autopilot. Also, it would be nice if throttle and brake actions would cancel the autopilot, like it would for cruise control IRL.

Yeah and as I have already said it's on the todo-list.

I thought so already as I would personally prefer it the way it currently is and others back from the GTA IV times also. I will make that optional.

I am also thinking about adding an in-game menu where you can change the various options and no more editing the XML file manually.

I implement a method which automatically kills all enemies while the player character drives himself and I make this optional so you can decide for yourself whether to have that functionality or not.

First, +1 that option to let us stop autodrive when touching the controls, That'd be so awesome.

Yes and it's quite simple: Open the VAutodriveConfig.xml with notepad or any other editor and set the AlwaysDriveYourself tag to false.

That's all and yes you can shoot in that mode. :)

Would it be possible to have an option that cycles you through passenger seats if the vehicle has more then 2?

 

For example you could sit in the back of one of the limos.
