if you haven't heard yet the dev of the popular game h1z1 started to mass ban every cheater with more to come as the president stated.

now he is giving cheaters a second chance to redeem themselfs by making them posting a video and sending it to him apologizing to the community why he cheated.

so should r* do the same?

http://www.ign.com/articles/2015/05/20/banned-h1z1-cheaters-could-get-second-chance-if-they-issue-a-public-apology

I would find it funny as hell lol.

Yes. Only relegate them to the cheater pool until the same is done. Do it again and you're there for life. That way Rockstar can still (maybe) continue getting revenue from these clowns but they won't be able to bother normal people.

About 95% of the apologies would come from 12-year-olds who forced their moms to write them a mature looking pardon letter to read aloud for Rockstar.

I mean, it would highly possible be, so:

wow, these devs are actually friendly to people and not banning someone for life when he has tried something out.

What does "cheating" actually entail?

The idiots who go into wallglitches to grief, use god mode and mod menus, as well as other game breaking methods? Does it include glitching and car duping?

guess it would be something that gives a unfair advantage to other players

when it comes to pc, theres always a way around whatever anti-glitch/cheater system they implement. all you have to do is change your IP and start a new character.

I like the solution they are employing, it will certainly be funny to see them apologize. I hope showing your face is required in the video.

I hope they respond to these apologies with this

And create a new social club account. AND buy a new license key for the game.

I've heard the H1Z1 devs actually anonymously upload hacks onto websites where all the hackers visit and then after a bunch of them download the hacks they devs do a mass ban on everyone who's using their hack.

Not sure if this is 100% true, but either way it's a great way to make people stop hacking. It means people are much less likely to hack since they have no idea if the hacks are actually legit or uploaded by the devs themselves. The only downside is it means the game will be full of hackers for a few days or so, which means they can't do this very often.

Piracy in today's age never works for multiplayer services.

HelloMyNameIs...

I'll never understand why people want to cheat on a video game, it defeats the whole purpose of playing in my opinion, but I think it would be funny if R* followed their lead and made the people make a video on YouTube to apologize LOL. :D

"I am very sorry for hacking on your game"

Yeah just ban their asses

Couldn't agree more. You'll never put off the hardcore of the cheating community, but a decent hard stance will put off the majority, make it a better place for all to use.

I don't know about the Xbox 360, but banning PS3 modders is like pissing in the wind. As for glitchers, they should have their accounts completely reset for the first offense and be console banned for a second offense. Right now cheaters just laugh at Rockstar because they know nothing will happen to them, and at this point they would be right.

Yeah, sure why not, they only unbanned 3 out of the 30k they banned...and one is about to get banned again...sure it'd be funny to see thousands beg while .001% get reprieved.

No, no cheater pool for them...you really think that people who cheat are likely to then spend real money on the game???

Meh! I don't really care if people mod. As long as my gamertag isn't affected I just enjoy watching them. Just pixels at the end of the day.

World of Warcraft recently did a 100k ban wave. But yeah they should have to do that, but we know Rockstar and that will never happen. Also, people can and will lie through their teeth just to get unbanned.

Odds of Rockstar doing a ban wave on anyone who has glitched in the past is very slim to none. Now if they were to say tomorrow "We will begin to ban anyone and everyone who participates in any form of glitch starting immediately." then you might have some people stop, but people tend to call their bluff.

then some needs to be made as a example to show they arent bluffing.

r* should be like on their news wire there's going to be a ban wave those who has cheated will be banned with a very very slim chance of coming back. that should put force to gta online stoping people like these. face it modders and cheaters laugh at r* face because they are too linent since 2013.

Should demand that all cheaters go on national news and make their apologies known there.
