Does R* care about the Creator?

If I might put this thread to rest - R* may very well care according to their latest...

See here for all the details.

That really isn't significant at all...

Yeah I noticed the email address was very generic, that's why I said "may care" not "does care", it's likely that any emails will get lost in the miasma.

It'll likely be as if you were phoning customer service phone lines and getting outsourced script readers instead of an actual technician.

It's probably a really long shot in the dark without a gun or eyes. But I guess it can't hurt to try...

"In the dark without eyes", this bit intrigues me !! how would I know it was dark ? :panic::lol:

I wish they would map the raising/lowering of props to the triggers which have pressure-sensitivity rather than clicking the sticks in which do not... horrible design choice! :facedesk:

On topic, if enough people copy and paste the original list and send it as an email to that address then it's surely going to get noticed, there must be some R* employees who play their game and wish the creator had a bit more meat on it? Even if they're just the low level 'drones' of the operation! ;-)

This is the only hope, but I seriously doubt many of them play it much at all.

As you now see in the first update notes since PC launch, they are now dividing resources between consoles and PC and PC has at least as many fixes/bugs as console. This only decreases the likelihood of the creator ever getting an overdue revamp.

I'm sure they do care... about as much as the queen cares about me and you!

Totally agree with OP. I created an account on these forums just so I could add my support to this thread. I had no idea these problems had been around for so long - I'm assuming since the game was originally released on consoles? I've only played on PC but all of the problems (and more) listed by the OP are still around. R* hasn't touched them.

I love the Creator. I've made so many maps and I've used all of the different game modes. (Except sea races; those bore me to tears.) But the tools we should have are missing. I WANT to create a vehicle deathmatch. I WANT to use my imagination to emulate and improve on the official R* mission style settings. I WANT to be able to fricking jump over small obstacles while walking around at ground level placing my props. I watch videos of other players or company teams (eg. Rooster Teeth's Achievement Hunter team) playing all sorts of amazing maps with awesome features, but when I go into the Creator and try to recreate what I've seen, far too often I rediscover that the tools I would need to replicate that content simply don't exist to the peon player.

I was disheartened to discover this thread today. I had no idea the R* apathy was so long lived. R* hasn't dropped the ball on the Creator. No. What they've done is taken that ball outside to play fetch with their pet alligator and now the ball has been annihilated into little fibers and recycled out the alligator's backside.

I have only one small, tiny, miniscule glimmer of hope: the AmmuNation weapon board. Every patch has added more weapons and that AN board is almost out of space. I'm hoping that once the board is filled R* will be too lazy to rearrange it so instead they'll look for some novel concept for a subsequent content update.
Joe Schmoe: "Hey guys, the AmmuNation board is full. What should we do next?"
John Doe: "How about we finally get around to fixing the Creator?"
Billy-Bob: "This game has a Creator?"

John Doe: "Um, yes? It's a bit dusty but I'm sure we could make something out of it."

Joe Schmoe: "Hahahahahaha. John? You're fired."

That's hilarious.

They actually still have plenty of stuff to cram out, and to be honest the creator is doing pretty solid around this point, at least on consoles. Also, R* would just take the last weapon on the AmmuNation board and make it timed to that DLC... Or they could just make another AmmuNation weapon board.

Yup, these things have been an issue since the old gen release, I mean look at the date I posted this thread. As I said in the OP, some stuff has been a problem since the Creator Beta, and in fact the Creator had gotten actively worse in some updates. If I remember correctly you were able to jump when the Creator launched, but after one of the updates you couldn't. I assumed it was a bug, but after so long I can only guess it was intentional. At first we couldn't build in the airport and certain interiors; disappointing, but fair enough. Then they removed ALL interiors. There are standard modes that still aren't usable in the Creator, even hidden modes/options found by modders years ago that STILL haven't seen the light of day.

It's sad you have to play a modded private lobby on PC just to make something interesting when the tools and sandbox has been there all along, but they refuse to let us use it. For two years R* has only put more restrictions on map makers and largely ignored people's reasonable requests in favor of dropping more microtransaction bait. I'm done with R* at this point, it's clear all they care about now is making money; they LITERALLY do not give a flying f*ck what we want, and basically tell us that to our faces in every update or press release.

I don't get the moaning really, they've improved the creator a while ago by making the airport unlocked and the 'allow prop stacking' option along with the whole feel of placing props, twisting and turning them the way you want. It might not be well implemented, but when you get around it it works just fine.

They took the jumping mechanic out, because you could get into certain 'restricted' areas such as the Humane Labs by jumping. I won't disagree on that being an annoying feature though ;)

The changes are by far the best thing they have done for it, and to be honest shocked me that it even happened.

Why anyplace is restricted to begin with is the real question

Agreed restrictions is something i don't agree with but yeh creator at the moment is good now we can use templates and allow prop stacking. Ideas i had months ago are now actually achievable.

The Content Creator was/is a great ideal, I guess part of the problem with lack of features might be the different console and platforms were able to play on

It would be nice if the Content creator was moved to the PC as a App and then we could select which consoles we were designing it for and tools that worked or was suitable to only those platforms

If a more app containing more tools with dimensions on height ect and resize features was offered i would be willing to pay real money for it

The Creator sucks.

Few things:

- Can't get silenced pistols

- Can't make it so: No weapons at start -> pickup weapons from enemies

- Can't exit vehicle when testing GTA Race

- Only 5 different vehicles allowed for captures etc

- Can't place spawn points near (~5 meters) objects "Cannot place here. The area must be clear"

- "The ground must be level"

- "Placed items cannot be stacked" (player spawn on the ramp object)

- Restricted areas like the dam "interior" etc

- Can't shut up the f***ing ambient music

- Only 20 dynamic objects allowed

- Only max 30 minutes time limit for captures

- Max 20 enemies in captures

- Can't force blips off

- Can't make on foot races

- Can't make vehicle spawns for GTA races

- etc etc

Having a capture with a time limit of more than 30 minutes is a good way to have players quit your map.

I'd quit way before 30 (15 is my limit, time to move on to something else)

Well, I'm not doing these for some random hasty kids. I'm doing these with/for my friends, so that's not a problem.

10mins is my limit for testing a job out. I'll dock ya points on my review thread if your Deathmatch is set for longer. Hate when people do a DM for 15 cause it drags and there's usually a big score gap that can't be caught up on!

If R* was to give a f*ck they'd erase all jobs that promise RP or Cash... then if creator makes another one just straight up ban them from the creator.

Theres so few Creator's that actually make decent stuff. Christ knows what the rest even care about but they're clogging the matchmaking suhn fierce!

I would say the ratios 100/1 to find just a half decent job randomly. The players not joining are partly to blame for this amount of crap.

I renamed one of my newer jobs "***WAR READY 3***" and it filled up 1000x quicker than when it was named "Dude, Where is My Mind?" and you bet your anus people left as some as players seen it wasn't just a spawn killing trap and it actually had props and a thought out weapon set... getting revelover kills is for noobs apparently?!!! But getting carbine kills ain't despite doing the exact same thing for two years doesn't get boring or easy... this is what non-brain dead creators are up against!
