Handcuff Charlie was talking about the creator too. Maybe you misunderstood his post.

 

He made reference to the type of programmers/game creators that R* might employ for GTA6

To create a truly magnificent game in GTA6, with a creator that works as well as we all wish GTA5's would, they would need to employ the very cream of game programmers

 

Now if someone was in the know (eg. a behind the scenes person working at R* maybe, but not a programmer), or if someone outside of R* knew of these high level programmers and they also knew that R* had employed them to work on GTA6 - one could deduce that GTA6 would be a magnificent game. Fully formed. Fully realised. And with everything in it that GTA5 didn't have.

 

And people do care, that's why these forums and threads and websites exist; to get the best out of GTAO and the creator. Because it seems as if R* dropped the ball somewhat when releasing GTAO when it is compared to other online multiplayer games.

 

I for one love the creator, with all its limitations. It is the best of what I have at my disposal so I use it & I enjoy using it. Do I wish it was better? Of course. But that's life...

Erm hello GTA5 has had a lot added to it since its release. GTA6 wont be the same in that respect and i expect a more polished game from the start. Even creator has had loads added to it. GTA5 has had more added to it over the past two and half years than any other game i know released since GTA5 has been released, period.

 

So of course there were going to be countless issues. Its like when you create a job in GTA5 you need to test it then you might go back and make some changes to improve it because after watching and playing it you know areas in which it can be improved, GTA5 is no different. I believe R* didn't expect their game to be so popular in terms of online gameplay hence why we have so many FREE updates and tons of added content.

 

Its us the players of the community that give R* their inspiration and ideas to do more to say R* sit on their ass doing nothing is a bit of a joke in all fairness yes they could maybe listen to us more but how many people moan about the same thing over and over again i wouldnt want to listen to it.

Yes GTA5 has had a lot added to it since its release I never once disputed that point, but we are talking about the creator here.

But it is a fact that updates to the creator have been limited and are just papering over the cracks. As you say, endless support tickets and issues have been raised by the actual gamers that would serve to make the creator even better - I never disputed this either. But it does appear that R* is very slow on really beefing up the creator by listening to these suggestions and issues. Maybe they don't know about these threads, maybe they don't care, maybe they can't physically fix these issues. I don't know.

 

I also don't know where you think I said R* sit on their ass and do nothing. I've reread my post several times and I can't see those words in there, nor can I see any phrase that would suggest that inference.

 

I am a full supporter of the excellent suggestions in those threads you refer to. I myself have added several suggestions based on my frustrating experiences in the creator - so I have shown my support there as you suggested but thank you for the advice all the same.

My point about dropping the ball refers to the fact that MMPORGs have been around for many years. I think the creator is excellent but unnecessarily flawed considering there is vast wealth of knowledge and experience to be drawn from. Judging from the endless forums and topics and blogs and threads I have read on the subject, it appears that R* could have done more homework and released a more polished version of the online creator experience.

I've not once disagreed or challenged you on anything that you have said, in fact I actually agree with a lot of your points (your model memory issue thread was very helpful and I have used it many times). And my original reply to your post was intended to help you. But your replies appear indignant and angry as if I had slighted you in some way. If I did think the "accusing R* of sitting on their arse" comment was directed at me then I apologise for that alone.

 

I was hoping for a more eloquent reply and that an intelligent and reasoned debate could open up.

Unfortunately that didn't happen and waving your "achievements" around, insisting that you are more right and more entitled and that anyone below the standard you have set is wrong just makes you look petty and childish.

Its not just about GCCC im part of other crews that do crew vs crew battles and so on. People forget its not just about the stunt creators as Zorvaine stated above we have a hugely talented array of creators so its a shame we are being disrespected in this manner. You get from the game what you're prepared to put in, simple. These forums are what they are - forums.

 

 

STAYING ON TOPIC - I do believe R* care about the creator but their attentions have clearly been elsewhere and it does not involve filling their pockets. The community demands a lot from R* so it hasnt surprised me one bit that the creator has suffered at times and still does now.

Yeah, this got way out of hand. I kind of gave up paying attention to this a while ago, but I think you're right. I still have hope they haven't abandoned it, but my expectations are low.

Maybe one of the most frustrating things is the lack of updates, as in direct communication from R* about what they're doing/not doing.

(And I don't mean updates as in extras or fixes to the to the game - eg. this http://gta.wikia.com/Grand_Theft_Auto_V/Title_Update_Notes or the High Life update)

 

I think between us we've played enough in the creator to know what does/doesn't work and we've built up a huge list of bugs, glitches, wishlists etc that would improve the creator experience tenfold.

And if R* could say, "yes we've seen the threads and we are working on X, Y, Z" or "no we can't do anything for now because of A, B, C" - then that would be cool

What they fail to realise (or are just too ignorant to admit) is that the reason GTA: Online is so popular and is continually played regularly is precisely BECAUSE of the custom jobs people make. Without the editor many, many people would have gotten bored with the 'vanilla' R* jobs and endless free-mode battles LONG ago. It's thanks to the continued creativity and ingenuity to find new ways to use the limited props Rockstar* give us (coupled with tons of glitches that greatly enhance the editors functionality) that people are STILL playing their game, warts and all, nearly 2 years after it's initial release, so it's about time they recognised this and threw creators a bone! :-)

 

If you want to see R* take note and improve the creator then PLEASE upvote this extensive list of suggestions compiled by stronktank. We're not expecting EVERYTHING on that list, but some of it would be nice, just to show R* are listening and have more on their mind than mere shark card sales. ;-)

Rockstar seems to focus on what the majority uses it for. Stunt Racing & Griefing (10.000.000$$$ Matches)

Me and the GCCC Creator Crew are trying to make descent matches given capture modes, street races, deathmatches without explosives, tanks and dubstep etc.

 

 

 

They need to start listening to the right people. GCCC. Where matches are built from creativity to provide entertainment and challenge. Not profit or fake advertisement.

The list is essential but the actual holy grail for creations in general is not just improving the creator, but in creating a modern and functional content management system. The use of social club for searching and downloading maps is amateur hour by Rockstar.

@Charlie: Never expected you'd go this far to piss someone off,... Cluttering this topic over a pity argument. You really spent time taking screenshots, uploading them and posting them here? You took the time to go to page 41-44 to show us what we all know? That jobs with those titles are food for the masses, and that in a creator crew it is obvious that the top played ones are mostly not the high quality ones, as the public for GTA Online is a dumb mass, like you of all people should know?

GCCC Is full of hidden gems, which are all pearls for the swine. GCCC is as far as I know, the most all-round creator crew there is. That means it has its share of stunt creators, but just as much Race/DM/Capture/BMX/etc. creators,... And the idea behind it is exactly what you should support. Create, share, play. People get plays, likes, reviews, etc. on custom jobs, much more than ever. I'd encourage any creator to join this crew if you are passionate about the creator. I learnt a lot from fellow members, and even from some of the best stunt race creators. I used to make custom jobs for the masses, now I make them for GCCC.

 

Anyway, back on topic. Finally, Rockstar replied. Saying we should all send the list to [email protected]. R* didn't care about the creator until now, but that might someday change if we show them how the creator has been keeping this game alive, and will in the future.

That really isn't significant at all, basically that reply was written by someone who R* has outsourced (IOW: they do not actually work for R*) to handle tier 1 support.

 

Tier 1 support is designed to keep the company from having to waste its time dealing with nonsense that 9 times out of 10 is user error and not a problem on the company's side.

 

 

If that person actually worked for R*, and therefore R* actually cared, then they wouldn't need (much less request) that the email be sent. They would forward it directly to the person who would be in a position to do something about it.

 

That email address is the public email address that R* gives out to everyone for any number of reasons. Got an idea for a new type of pants? That's the email address. Want your creation verified? That's the email address, send a link....etc etc etc. They likely get several thousand emails a week to that address.

People have made mods to "fix" creators problems so people can stack items and other things, for some reason stacking things is so horrible. things I think need to be added to creator stackable items(cant find anything bad about stacking items), rotatable items so they can be rotated in ALL directions not just left and right, more types of jobs/missions possible to make like vehicle death matches or the ability to make missions.
