nobs stealing your car at start of mission

This is really a low move . I always have my car set to everyone because I'm nice and was taught to share ;), my problem is with people that jump in and leave you behind at the start of a mission.I'm always quick to change to crew when they take off but it's still annoying. Jeez not like the game is called gta or somthing.

does this piss everyone else off, or is it just me ?..

Yes it is certainly annoying. Good on you for keeping your car unlocked however.

More often than not, having my car unlocked to all players has been helpful.

A guy I used to play with absolutely refused to set his access to anything but passengers. He left me for dead in the passenger seat of his insurgent when he stole the prison bus in a setup mission. We don't play together anymore.

I tried explaining that when someone steals my car I let them drive away then lock them out and request it back, leaving them stranded and me with my freshly repaired car.

I wouldn't try to be nice. You'd get killed instead, or something else.

Passengers only. I got tired of others taking my car. Sometime I will lock it for a while if run into wanted level trolls in freemode.

I especially love the OP's line, "Jeez, its not like this game is called GTA or something" :) Got a great LOL :^:

While the OP earns some sympathy for his hurt, he has actually hit upon the one aspect of GTA that actually is functionally appropriate to the game.

I always have my PV set to all, and I don't mind if somebody else drives it away. They usually destroy it within 60 seconds anyway, and I can call a new one.

Used to happen to me all the time on last gen. On current gen not so much but you still have your occasional a hole that will do this. I just let them srive a far enough distance to where i can request it back. I dont let this stop me from keeping my cars unlocked all though it is certain cars i keep locked that other players cant get in like my Roosevelt or Z type to name a couple

Passengers only when I'm with randoms. Never trust randoms, ever. Rule #1. They will f*ck with any opening you give them.

I always have it set to "everybody". It's cool sometimes, I will randomly see my car being driven across the map from wherever I left it last while doing my own thing.

If I'm not using it or thinking about it, I don't mind sharing it. Whether they were in a tight situation and needed a getaway and my car happened to be sitting there, or a low level doesn't have such nice cars, or if someone just saw it and wanted to joy ride.

A couple days ago me and my buddy were messing around in buses, and randomly a level 12 flew past us in my Banshee. Didn't even notice someone had my car till it passed. Ha, he probably had no idea it was my car.

Another instance, I was on my way to the impound, and literally as i was crossing the street a dude sped out of the impound with my Carbonizzare. Totally random. His timing was impeccable. Few minutes later another player blew him, as well as my car. haha

But there's also been not so pleasant times, where a dude sniped and killed me in my car, stole my car ran me over and killed me again, and then drove around the corner and blew up my car and then left. haha, little frustrating...

Doesn't matter if I leave mine unlocked or not. Like anyone's going to choose my Casco over a super car.

Called a Buzzard for a mission the other night, and beside my Buzzard sat a Savage. I definitely stole the Savage.

Example of why I set my car to passengers only for missions with randoms. If I am going for a Pegasus vehicle and don't want passengers, I always set it to no-one (everyone who has had a random get in a Buzzard co-pilot seat will know one reason why), as much for avoiding anyone stealing my stuff as to prevent anyone from being stranded when I don't give them a ride. Some people have become annoyed, it is true, but most settled down after I single-handedly finished a mission.

Definition of a "nob" is a wealthy or important person. So, rich important people steal cars?

That's why I set mine to passengers only then switch to everyone when I leave it behind in a Heist so people can take it if they need a ride as I take the objective vehicle

Don't let a few spoil it. I always leave mine open unless someone steals it and then I need it. I was at the grocery store getting snacks, some dude stops and takes my car ... it happens ... rarely do I make it passenger only.

interaction menu > vehicle access > passengers (no-one is preferred)

OP, get your head out of your ass and learn the controls.

I usually have mine set to passengers only with the following exceptions:

  1. I'm playing heists, in which case I set it to everyone since I only play with friends or friends of friends.
  2. I'm in a private session with friends, it will be set to everyone.
  3. I'm playing missions with randoms and plan to use my Buzzard. Access will be set to "No One" because you have no need to ride with me since I don't allow passengers in my Buzzard for obvious reasons (ie. they WILL take control of my rockets no matter what I say).
