[WIP|V] Texture Toolkit

Could someone help with the edit in Photoshop part please? I've only managed to edit the Cargobob texture so far. I edited the Sprunk soda machine but It has not changed in game.

 

Do I need to load MIP maps and what sizes? Also saving help too. Basically what to select in these two dialogue boxes.

This is exactly what i do, but my game just crashes when i equip it.

 

Me too, I tried several times to change that "pounder" texture using photoshop (saving it with MIP and without to test) but it keeps crashing !

This is what it looks like in the game, I can drive the truck around but when I get away and try to look at it my game crashes. Is there any color restriction ? I tried to modify update.rpf file instead of x64e.rpf but it keeps crashing.

I made the old version download available again on the first post. If you used the newest version (150520-Preview) and the game crashes, could you please test the same texture again with the old version? That helps me to find the bug. If this does not help, could you upload your ytd file?

So I Replaced The Texture of uppr_diff_029_b_uni.ytd Works all fine,But When i modded uppr_diff_029_d_uni.ytd when i go to the store all the shirts of that type(the v-necks,back in posnobys) are white, I get the error "err_gen_zlib_2"

They are the same type but a different texture(like alot of items in game) its the first time i replace 2 textures of the same shirt type anyone know how to fix it (the error it self i just verify my game Cache ) but about future edits,is it possible to edit the same type of shirt?

 

Thanks, and yeah I use photoshop, I can give you a few pointers if you need any help making some. Are you still having the same problem replacing the shirts?

No I actually meant which texture exactly this is inside the game. But I simply tried to replace all textures with that name using OpenIV and the game was completely broken after importing. Can you view the texture in OpenIV after importing?

I have also uploaded a new version with a bugfix. I dont think that will help with your problem but maybe it solved some of the crashes.

Just spawn a pounder in the game and get away from it while you look at it to make it crash

I'm not really sure why it happened to begin with. As long as like names with like names were replaced, everything should have worked just fine. I've done it with mine multiple times no problem, maybe try importing it into the Texture tool and saving it and importing it again?

This mod changes multiple textures of the same model, meaning (black, green, grey) but not multiple of the same textures( multiple blacks, multiple greens) if that's what your asking?

 

How do you guys save the .dds?

I've tried

DXT1 RGB 4 bpp | no alpha

DXT1 ARGB 4 bpp | 1 bit alpha

Both proved uneffectivly.

Can you Tell me your line or work (from extracting to importing) and ill be able to help you

 

I extracted a texture using OpenIV to .dds format. Then extracted the .ytd format to be edited. Edited the .dds format via photoshop and imorted it in .ytd using this Toolkit. Saved the .ytd file and imported in the game with OpenIV.

Is there anywhere that has a list of cloths and file names? This would save a LOT of time when looking for specific clothing.

i started a post of someone did such thing,no one answered i really think we should make a documentation with at the textures and there in game names and so on

I'm having some difficulties with replacing a car badge... I want to make the Gresley badge color like the rest of the Bravado vehicles. I replaced the texture and it doesn't show up in game, I don't get a crash or anything like that just not a color badge.

For example, a_m_y_indian_01.ytd comes with three different shirt textures, the last being named uppr_diff_001_c_pak.png. I've tried adding a new texture called uppr_diff_001_d_pak.png, but the trainer only shows me the original three, there's no 4rd texture. Could it be because of the way the trainer handles the files or is there some other text file that tells the game how many textures are there for each NPC?

It's not so simple. There's always another file that define said file etc. So you have to find this file, and define your new texture to it. Can't help you with the location sorry.

I can help out with that, whenever I come across groups (like the V-necks) I can post it in your thread if you want with the file name, picture and where they're found. Hopefully other people will add on.

No, it just sends me to my desktop. A message pops on saying that windows will try to solve the problem or something. Thats all.

edit: I get this error message- "GTA5 has stopped working" A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify if a solution is available.

 

First time i heard of that,did you replace only one texture? how many are replaced in total and what ones

 

I only replaced "uppr_diff_004_b_uni.ytd" in the player_one folder

never mind... I have removed everything i modded. But if i try on the black t-shirt it crashes. No matter if modded of not.

The problem for me is that I can't exactly check which part I'm changing, it's just wild guessing as there's no model viewer.

 

Atleast I don't want to use OpenIV and edit my files, will there be a way that I can see my texture in a different model viewer?

atm i dont think so,what do you mean you dont use open iv to edit your files lol no other way to so,and btw you can see textures on things like

Currently this isn't possible. Info like that is all inside the NPC's .ymt file which we can't edit yet :/ really sucks

Indeed, I get the same error when I use your files. But when I open and save the files with the current version of the tool (150522-Preview) it seems to work fine.

 

And @all that get a zlib error: If your texture quality is set to "very high" try to change it to high and try again.

I don't use OpenIV, I use the mounting feature of FiveM. I don't want to corrupt my files with some other .asi file that OpenIV provides because that's not what I want.
