[WIP|V] Texture Toolkit

When the .YTD archive changes with the tool and replaced in OPEN IV it becomes corrupted. It can no longer be viewed or extracted from the .RPF after any change.. (Vehicles.rpf files for example) I rebuild the archives with the OPEN IV tool but no success so far.. Any solutions for this yet ?

I have the same issue, I can't seem to find a solution. It seems as is some textures dont like having an increase/decrease in file size. I even tried making a resolution smaller yet it still corrupted the archive.

This wouldn't be so bad, but even when backing up my x64v.rpf, and replacing it once it goes bad, GTA V Launcher still has to redownload all 1.81GBs and I can't seem to do anything about it.

Is it normal that on having turned an image ".png" to ".dds" it diminishes the quality?

In theory, the tool now also supports textures that are embedded in drawable files (*.ydr). But since I don't know the filenames of interesting models I could not test it :-).

But you can test the new version here. If ydr editing works for you or the game crashes after editing please report it.

I've got a problem with the tool. If I import the texture files, the program delete those files from the YTD file, instead of replacing them with the modified ones. The DDS images were exported with OpenIV and edited with GIMP.

Using the new program, and when loading .ydr, for example: wheel2_loride_01.ydr located in Gta5\update\x64\dlcpacks\mpheist\dlc.rpf\x64\levels\mpheist\vehiclemods\wheels2_mods.rpf

wont show anything. screen:

You should be able to edit ydr, yes. But often they simply have no embedded textures. So just try another one or find the ytd with the textures for that model.

I go to OpenIV, open a texture with the texture previewer, extract all as DDS, and then i open the DDS files with GIMP. Then, i go to Texture Toolkit, open the YTD file and click Important and select all the modified DDS files, but then the DDS files that should be replaced on the YTD container dissapear.

How about you try my way?Get the Ytd out of openiv(edit mode and just drag it out) open it with this tool and then extract the Dds files convert them and edit and then open the ytd again and import the new dds into it,works for should work for you (i dont use openiv to extract the dds) to shorten, just extract the dds files with This tool not openiv

Can some one help me with a simple problem? Every single texture that I edited works perfectly but for some reason I can't change Jimmy textures! Why? Are I'm doing something wrong here?

x64e.rpf > streamedpeds_ig.rpf > ig_jimmydisanto None of the textures in this folder appear to be altered in game.

Game crashes if i change embedded textures in YDR .

For Example: Books in Michaels house - X64h/levels/gta5/interiors/int_props/v_int_44.rpf/v_44_lounge_items.ydr

YTD editing works fine. Thanks.

Update: Edit embedded textures in drawable model files (YDR) works now.

Is it normal that on having turned an image ".png" to ".dds" it diminishes the quality?

Yes. Because typical DXT1\DXT3 and DXT5 dds use lossly compression. For lossless compression you can use R8G8B8 for textures without alpha channel and A8R8G8B8 for textures with alpha channel.

And of course to avoid generation loss you shouldn't edit and save a DXT* dds multiple times just like you shouldn't edit and save a JPEG multiple times. Use a lossless format as middle format.

So I Replaced The Texture of uppr_diff_029_b_uni.ytd Works all fine,But When i modded uppr_diff_029_d_uni.ytd when i go to the store all the shirts of that type(the v-necks,back in posnobys) are white, I get the error "err_gen_zlib_2"

They are the same type but a different texture(like alot of items in game) its the first time i replace 2 textures of the same shirt type anyone know how to fix it (the error it self i just verify my game Cache ) but about future edits,is it possible to edit the same type of shirt?
