Mods on Xbox One, awesome, but I don't need them and it takes away some PC master race arguments. Hololens looked pretty crazy, we don't know how it will ACTUALLY look though. That announcement of backwards compatibility is actually rather significant when you consider that they're the only big next gen console offering it. That's not to say I'm ignoring Wii U's BC, but I think everyone knows that Nintendo really isn't much of a competitor to Sony and MS this gen. I thought the Holo-Lens looked rather stupid at first when they showed them playing on the wall, but I was kind of blown away when they showed that Minecraft world on the table. I haven't been following all of this VR tech that's been coming out over these last few years, but this is the first tech I could actually see myself buying insofar that they get enough support for it and get it down to a $99 price point. However, there was one thing about this conference that just sapped me of any enthusiasm I had about the show up until that point, and that was the reveal of Rare's new game. Now hear me out, I think it looks decent enough and I may consider buying it if it is received well, but it almost felt like a slap to veteran Rare fans such as myself. They have so many criminally-underutilized properties that are just waiting to be revived and yet they continue ignore them. When they mentioned a "shared world" for this new game, I was imagining something more like several of Rare's IPs coexisting in one seamless experience, so as to satisfy all of their fans. Seeing Banjo, Joanna Dark, Conker, the Battletoads, et al. again was nostalgic as hell, and then they revealed they're simply being brought back in their old games as part of a collection. I'm saying to myself "But... but we've already played these games...". It's bad enough they bullsh*tted us about a new Conker last E3 after the Project Spark reveal, but then they decide to wave ALL of their classic IP in front of our faces just to say "Now you can play them in their old games... AGAIN!". Overall, I'd still give this conference an "A". Anyway I can't wait for the Star Wars Battlefront gameplay unveil and I also can't wait to see how much the development of Uncharted 4 has progressed. Last but not least I want to know what Proj. I'm a bit uncomfortable with all of the advertising I don't know why. For instance they've changed the concept art a lot (now the helicopters are drones and Faith doesn't quite look like Faith anymore?), there have been reports it's a reboot instead of a prequel as initially rumoured, all the constant advertising they're doing every hour on Twitter for like 3 days now... Hope they didn't ruin one of my favourite games. So Bethesda is still the winner conference for me so far. The EA conference interests me though mainly, because of Mirror's Edge and Battlefront.
