MASTER GABE 202
Rockstar really needs to step up their game when it comes to servers. I can't get The Prison Break Heist done. It can be easy: they have a billion dollars, they can pay for server maintenance, just like that. Please fix servers, it will help the gameplay experience. xXRobbie98Xx

happygrowls
It might be your internet, instead of blindly blaming Rockstar, perhaps try options such as reconnecting to the internet, turning it off and on. Then if it doesn't work, just file a support ticket to rockstar. thebrianmo
ProfessionalN00b
I've seen tons of problems where me and a lot of other players were complaining of the lag so it's not just one person. I think everyone has seen the infamous timeout screens as well.
RogerWho
reconnecting to the internet, turning it off and on. OP don't listen to this advice. DON'T TURN OFF THE INTERNET. We need it. Fussyfez
livejoker
You're demanding, aren't you? You think R* are in their office fingering their assholes with $100 bills? They're keeping the servers stable (as much as they can), fixing bugs and adding stuff in. I've got a huge issue where if I quit out of a job I need to dashboard or else anything I try to join says "timed out session" but I'm not f*cking making a thread saying what R* needs to do. Kursaal
Im obviously not a genius but i think the reasons the servers are bad is they went for quantity over quality, as in they bought a LOT of cheap servers so many people could play (understandable considering over half the worlds population bought the game) instead of buying less servers of better quality and have people unable to play Though yeah the servers are a pain in the dingleberry xp

FrugalDangerMan
The bulk of the network connection errors people see are related to the connection you have at home. NAT2 connections will drop all the time. NAT1 is what you want. Problem is, most ISPs want to save money and give you a modem-router combo unit so you cant connect direct to the modem (NAT1) and are stuck connecting via the router (NAT2). This is a user end issue that Rockstar has no control over.

vengeancehawk
I've never had much problems with GTA Online servers. Timeouts, occasionally, yeah, but very rarely. My down/up speed is about 10mbps/10mbps

DentureDynamite
I often wonder if it isn't an issue of sheer numbers of players overloading their servers (or the maintenance required for one of the world's most popular online games!) that's causing the ongoing problems? Checkpoint: are there games with the same or more online players with equally demanding performance out there that are faster and more reliable? I rarely lose connections, but the times I sit waiting for their stuff to load is pretty sad (and it's not my Samsung 850 EVO that's the holdup, or the 30Mb/s down, 6Mb/s up ISP). LordRaijin
I've been experiencing lots and LOTS of lag. It has nothing to do with my internet connection either. The lag not only cost me death points during heist, but sometimes it doesn't let me inside of my vehicle or someone else that allows me to enter inside.
