Anyone tried to get a refund on PC (retail)?

Bought it for Online. Online is junk.

I'm going back to Xbox Live where it actually works. Dollar fifty for a 48-hour code to play on the weekends.

Yea, old graphics, but who needs smooth gameplay when you've got high-res textures right?

Anyone bought a retail copy and got it refunded?

Maybe in a year or so when they've sorted their sh*t out then I'll grab it from the bargain bin.

Just wait it out? What did you expect?

A working game on release?

Good luck with that. Seems more and more the gaming industry is fully cool with pushing a game out there that needs "tweaks" after official release.

Meaning: As long as campaign works, online mode can be fixed as they go along.

Maybe if you go back 10 years. That's not the way it works these days. We give them more money than we used to and they give us less game than they used to. Then they fix it, if they can or can be bothered, and ignore us telling them it's sh*t.

I expected them to learn from the fiasco of the first-gen Online release.

Guess that's expecting too much from a company that's earned well over $2B from this game.

Nope, depends where you bought it from though and where you live.

Consumer law here in Australia is that you're allowed a refund if the product doesn't work. However I have returned games with passes/keys before, as long as it's in a week time frame. Some places will argue for ages about how they cannot issue a refund because it's a game.

Recently, since when has there been a game that actually works when released? Companies don't do that anymore, they rely on patches/updates.

GTA online will probably work good enough to be a proper release in about ... Eight years from now.

Maybe if we had dedicated servers and a company that actually put more back into the game they they draw out from shark cards, sure. But come on, anyone that would think gtao for the pc would have launched any better is just thinking silly.

Besides 90% of games these days have launch issues. That's because we the consumers allow it to happen. "They'll patch it later"

Why is people thinking that Rockstar is sitting on 2B right now? Yeah, like making the game, paying employees, marketing, ports, servers, etc... was all for free, right?

Take Two, Rockstar's parent company, had a gross profit of $936M in the year ended March 2014. So yeah, of course they're not sitting of $2B but they sure as f*ck have enough to buy some goddamn servers not try to pull some P2P stunt expecting everyone to sit around and sing kumbaya.

Why on earth should they buy servers? We're still buying it and playing it. If sales of the game stopped after the first week of online and everyone in unison said "We're not playing till you fix it" then they'd have built server farms in 10 countries around the world within a week.

Sure, we'd benefit from it, but while we're still putting money in their pockets they won't even consider it.

Hard truths. Too many idiots in this world.

Yep. It's always been the way but it's getting worse as time goes by. Things break when you've not had them long and that's okay, because most people just buy another one. It's more cost effective to sell us crap that we won't return than it is to spend money on giving us something that doesn't *need* to be returned.

I think Arkham Knight will be an interesting one to watch on release day, for the same reason. (I hope I'm wrong because I'm buying it!)

So true, if for just one day everyone stopped playing and stopped buying cash cards we could get what we need. But people rather flock over to the support site and bitch about the kuruma. This game needs better servers, and that's not a want neither.
