This one has been kinda bugging me. They have tons of radio stations but hardly any modern music that isn't by some underground artist. What kind of Pop station still plays The Black Eyed Peas? It would've made perfect sense in 2009 when people actually liked them, but who would actually admit it now? Or another example, how many people here have actually heard Me & U on the radio since 2006? Also, where's the EDM? That's a major part of modern culture, especially in LA. Who still listens to Techno?

The music seemed pretty modern depending on the station. Radio Los Santos & Flylo's stuff was pretty modern, as well as the hipster station. You can't say there's no modern music when there clearly is.

I dunno man, Kendrick Lamar & Gucci Mane are hardly underground. Speaking of, I never knew songs that were a mere nine years old or thereabouts were automatically constituted as "old". If you want to listen to your new modern pop music with Megan Trainer or whatever her name is, go ahead. But don't expect to see it in GTA until her song's been out for a while and it's much cheaper to license.

Well quite frankly, a lot of the artists you mentioned are not 'that great'. Games soundtracks are supposed to introduce new music that one may not have heard before, as well as some popular stuff to attract the audience. There is plently of modern music in Gta V, and in the PS4/XB1 versions theres songs that were released after the game.

Granted, there are also super safe stations here too that play older music. You know, the kind the cuts rap verses when there's nothing wrong with them, plays cheesy 90s R&B and boy bands, and airs buttrock like Nickelback. But I'm referring to the Pop stations that actually have an edge to them and play true modern music.

Yeah, we kinda derailed the topic here. I was just trying to make a point, I didn't expect it to spark a debate.

Thank god Iggy Azelia is nowhere near GTA. If they ever added her I might have to join the critics against V. Lana Del Rey would have been good in the game but the only Iggy that should be anywhere near GTA is Iggy Pop. If you want good modern music you pretty much have to go underground for the most part. In about another year she will probably be looked at as the female Vanilla Ice.
