Yeah. Much like real life. If there's one dot in the sky making REALLY loud noises, I'd think the police could keep tabs on it pretty easily, especially with GPS tracking.

I don't see why people complained about that in IV. I mean, if you get something really hard to escape like a 4+ star in any GTA game, you had to have been trying pretty deliberately to get it in the first place.

It's a game though, on that logic, we might as well have to refuel cars and do pre-flight checks because it needs to be done in real life.

What I don't understand is why Rockstar would make an Annihilator spawn at the airport because steeling it would result in an inescapable wanted level (3+ stars can't be escaped with a helicopter).

Nah. This one doesn't have the same value since it wasn't falsely advertised in a gameplay trailer then nerfed in game.

 

 

Yes it does, because it advertises features (melee weapon variety) in the game itself even though it was already nerfed in the game, it's worse if anything.

 

 

You can't be serious can you? Rockstar went in depth with the commercials to make watching TV within the game have depth. Of course there will be some things they show that just aren't obtainable.

 

It wasn't just a commercial though (if it was, then you would have a point), it was an entire TV show dedicated to saying "hey look, melee weapons, and you can't have them".

 

And yes, I am aware that this post is 3 weeks old but I only just noticed it when I was browsing the entire thread.

I agree and I hope they bring back the Chainsaw in GTA V in DLC for that matter.

It would't suprise me if melee weapons were cut from the game in beta stage, according to the GTA Wiki, GTA IV was originally going to have planes, a tank, vehicle variety, a minigun, flamethrower and a small countryside.

Regarding the helicopter/wanted level thing in IV, it was the same for every past GTA. Wanted stars stayed until you went to a pay n spray or picked up floating police badges.

And Payday somehow stays more exciting after replaying a heist a dozen times without tanks, yoga, and Adders.

And in Sly Cooper, you steal things like the internal organs of a giant, mechanical bird, and I still took it more seriously than V.
