disturbed325
Hi guys, I've been trying to set dirt levels on some cars to 0 in the vehicles.meta so they won't get dirty but they keep getting dirty anyway. Do any of you guys know how to solve this?
VIPΣR
1. Did you edit the update.rpf ? 2. Did you rebuild the archieve? I'm assuming you're using OpenIV.
disturbed325
I was editing the vehicle.meta in spupgrade in x64w.rpf with open4. I've been setting the dirt level min and dirt level max to 0 for the Dukes but it has no effect when I save and replace the file. All other edits I make work so I don't know what I'm doing wrong. TheMatthewbe
I was editing the vehicle.meta in spupgrade in x64w.rpf with open4. I was looking through the decals.dat file in update.rpf > common > data > effects > decals.dat. I want you to take a look at that as well. I recommend opening it up in Notepad++ and turning off word wrap (Or you will have no idea what you're looking at). If you scroll down and go to Scrapes, you can see that it's referenced by materialfx.dat and you'll see splatter mist decals. I'm assuming that you can probably change the multiplier to 0 to turn them off. If you scroll up, you can also see a vehiclefx.dat referenced (currently looking for it). Another fun file to look at is the vehicle.meta file located in update.rpf > common > data > levels > gta5 > vehicle.meta. Seems to be quite a bunch of other options here, but I don't think any actually contain the effects for mud smear.
disturbed325
Ok thanks, I'll look into that.
TheMatthewbe
It's definitely in vehicle.meta. I set it to 0 max and well... nothing. It is however fun to make wheels the size of monster truck tires. I'm going to look in the decal file and see if I can't somehow turn it off. :x
disturbed325
I tried deleting mud splatters in decal.dat but no effect.
