Myself & some friends tried your bike route at the weekend as we thought it was probably the best one yet. But the cops were driving off road in front of us and behind to the point where me and a buddy both got knocked off the bikes. Same happened on the second run so we quit and reverted to the Noose truck method.

I'm wondering if the cops have been buffed since the Gunrunning update as I've done quite a few different off road routes in the past and never encountered cops going crazy like that before lol. Have you tested it since the update? We're training for CMM so I'd rather not take too many risks but would like to do it on the bikes as I feel like I'm cheating taking the noose truck.

Haven't tried since the update but I would be surprised if the cops have been updated, make absolutely sure you don't put 2 on a bike even for a second as this can trigger a more aggressive response

Make sure you're:

sticking together, one man out in front will leave cops in his "wake"

Not shooting at cops as this means they shoot back

Getting off road as soon as possible

Even if you do see a cop, brake, the cop will swerve, drive round.........or at this point open up with a full auto shotgun or even a gl round

At the first opportunity I'll run the bike route

Thanks for the info

Edit 28/06/17 - Just tried, no extra increased aggression from cops, other than when provoked, so unless it's a platform issue, which I doubt, it's all good

Edited by Ezekeil2Ofive17

Yep I think I know what caused it now. One of the crew got on the back of a bike on the first run (by accident) but got off again. But did it again on the second run and stayed on as a passenger so that's probably what caused it.

We'll give another try or 2 at the weekend. Thanks for the reply.

On PC btw.

Yeah it's a real pain when someone gets on by accident, I try to either get on one by one, or stand by a bike then get on all at once. Good luck with the cm, it's pretty easy with the right tricks.

In other news, I'm told certain gun running vehicles can be used on heists, while this won't really change things (because there is already an armoured vehicle) it may give an edge on cm runs

I feel I can give advice I have done CM a few times to help friends(back before gunrunning and before finale kuruma nerf) and have done all Elite challenges since kuruma nerf and gunrunning.

But regarding your comment about some of the new armored vehicles the Tampa and half track etc, you can use them and they really help and/or really fun (obviously they do not help for the finale),

But TBH for a CM run Kuruma is still king for 90% of it, because it is the only truly bullet resistant car (and the main objective of a CM run is to stay alive) the new vehicles just add variety, but they do not offer the same protection and on some setups but when you need to steal vehicles like "bikes" or "convoy" for example you have to be careful because the weapons are powerful and you can easily destroy the objective.

My main tip since gunrunning if you wanted to do a CM run would be stick to the kuruma when you can because that will still be the best at keeping you alive and buy explosive ammo for your heavy sniper and deal with heli's on missions where taking them out is a priority like convoy.

If you are not serious about a CM run then the new vehicles are fun and get the job done.

02/18 Update

Added link to the new doomsday guide http://gtaforums.com/topic/905186-the-ez-guide-to-the-doomsday-heists-and-criminal-mastermind/

It's not pinned (yet, hopefully) so any help keeping it visible is more than welcome

Now that the majority of the doomsday is up I will be running the classics, just to make sure everything still tallies

If you're on xb1 and want to help, let me know

Not sure if this has been covered already but if you wear the heavy armour (not the body armour but the one from the clothes shop) and the bulletproof helmet, you can take nearly half the damage you normally would. Makes you move slower, though, so it's not perfect. I don't know if it works on the Doomsday heists but it does work on the old heists. Remember to set the outfits to 'player owned' on the lobby screen.

Not sure if this has been covered already

It has, first post, under tips, and illuminated with this gif, http://i.imgur.com/9giERqc.gifv, also covers the scarf trick, allowing you to retain the damage resistance without the reduced movement speed

Most, if not all, is covered, especially the basics, give it a read

This is the Deliver EMP technique I've been using (it's a fully solo one, where only one player even needs to get out of the Insurgent).

It's similar to the one in the OP, but I think the shots required are easier (when there's a difference), so I find it very reliable. There's also no backtracking required, so it's a lot easier for a new player to follow. It's another option for people who might be having difficulty with Deliver EMP:

Quite a strange one.

Myself and two others helping a fella do CMM - I've done it 4 times and one other 3 times.  But tonight all going well up until PB Finale.  The demo guy had the bus blow up on him before he could blow it up, causing it to fail; claims it just combusted.  He was having dodgy connection issues around that time.  He maintains he did not die and I believe him. However I've never known of a simple failure resetting the CMM to 0.

He could have got stuck on something or crashed it so many times it just killed the engine. This has happened to me I think in act 2 with the stromberg. Got stuck on a rock and within 10 seconds of me hitting the gas and going nowhere the car just died. Not sure why this would result in a reset though. Unless the bus caught fire then exploded. Id close app on any failure just incase next time.

Great guide, anyone can do this with at least 1 experienced player. I completed this in august last year with low levels(new players). I just said that if they take my advices to prepare and run the heists, they will get the 10 million. And we did, pretty easily.

I also did it a couple of times with high levels through the years, that looked at my advices as "orders" and parachuted into the container on Station like a pancake anyway, even though I said its not worth the risk even though how many times he had done it.

If you have heist-experience and a player wants to be a control freak and talks nonsense, dont do the heist with that person. If you die, he will trash talk you like Jarhead and if he dies its your fault.

CMM prison break cargo ship, I disagree on the basejump approach. It’s way to risky… Why wouldnt you clear out ship and drive with car withoit shooting on enemies because of the cops starting to chase you.

+1 on not using the base jump. Normally the time saved is worth the risk, but not during CMM. Too many things can go wrong.

I had done that jump at least 100 times before, and guess what happened on my first CMM run?

Spoiler

My teammate tried to be helpful, followed me up, and accidentally bumped me off the edge as I was lining up my jump. I died.

And once you got the car, take the train tracks, through the tunnel, and don't shoot anything. Last thing you want is gangsters AND police chasing you.

And for the station team, call the Emergency Services and don't go anywhere near a police station before Agent 14 tells you to.

I see too many people who know where the station is, go there without a police car, get into a fight, and get shot.

For the prison break finale: ground team can bring their personal vehicle into the prison (I like the Armored Kuruma for this)

Just before you pass the first of the double gates, open your interaction menu, go to Vehicles, and Request personal vehicle. It will be delivered when the bus is between the 2 gates.

After shooting the first 3 guards, and BEFORE going to the first waypoint up the ladder, the prisoner should run out of the gates and get the car, while the officer waits under the ladder.

When the prisoner has the car inside the main gate, the officer should climb the first ladder, and the gate to the ring road will open.

Prisoner must drive the car to the back of the prison, near the water towed, and then navigate to Rashkovsky. Then, the officer should proceed trough his waypoints while the prisoner shoots from the car.

This way, the ground team have less risk of dying, and you don't have to risk the Buzzard getting shot down.

Welcome to the Ez guide to heists and the criminal mastermind challenge. Here you will find easy methods for every setup and heist, explained using custom maps, screenshots gifs and a few videos. Text will be kept as brief as possible and specific strategies aimed at the criminal mastermind challenge can be found at the end of each setup, under the heading mastermind tip.

This guide will be helpful to everyone from the street thug looking to graduate from two bit stick up jobs to the professional thief looking for the next score

While there are no wrong ways to do a heist, as long as you survive and complete the objective, there are definitely easier ways, and this guide will show them to you in a clear, simple, manner. Scroll down to the setup or heist you want to do and click the spoiler box to open it

To start there are some tips for heists in general, then each heist in order followed by some thank yous, a brief "disclaimer" and some links to other useful gtaf threads

Please feel free to post any questions, comments or tips of your own and enjoy

This guide can be found by putting " ez heists " into google

Tips For All Heisters

  Reveal hidden contents

Slow Is Smooth, Smooth Is Fast

When on a heist do not rush, take your time and go slow.
Even during missions with a timer there is no need to rush, going slow and being safe is quicker than dying and restarting

Leave Your Ego In the Planning Room

Higher level players (60 +) can carry more armour and snacks so they will have a slight advantage
Sometimes you will be up front in the thick of it, dropping targets, blowing up helicopters, saving the day
Sometimes you will be waiting in the car, deal with it

Checkpoints Don't Always Matter

With a few notable exceptions (which I will cover) checkpoints do not matter, you can head straight to the objective more often than not

Colour Outside The Lines

Most of the time it's easier, safer and quicker not to follow the gps line, so cut corners and go off road

The Armoured Kuruma, Get In And Win

The armoured kuruma is 95% bulletproof and as such is the single most useful vehicle in a wide range of setups, if no one in your crew owns one, which is unlikely, buy one a s a p
Remember it takes money to make money!

The Best Weapon Is Your Headset

Do you need a mic to do every set up? No

Will it make every set up and heist a lot easier? YES

Go to any clothes or gun shop and purchase a heavy combat outfit or heavy utility vest, then save it as an outfit. In the lobby the host can change "heist clothing" to "player saved outfits" instead of from selection. This will provide extra armour in heists, and limit your ability to sprint but it's a price worth paying (see link above)

Leave Your Menus Open

Most of the time you can leave your quick menus open and have your armour / snacks highlighted, then just tap a / x as needed. Saves time and is more effective than keeping your head down. The only time you shouldn't do this is after the tunnel on the pacific final or if you are using sticky bombs

The Best Offence Is A Good Defence

Where ever possible play defensively, stay in the car, stay in cover
Play smarter, not harder

Before Beginning Your First Heist

I would recommend being at least level 20 before heisting and at least level 40 before playing on hard

Tools Of The Trade

The dlc weapons, on the right in every gun shop, have no level lock so you can buy them from the beginning and are amongst some of the best weapons in the game
Purchase A special carbine, heavy shotgun (both with extended mags, scopes, grips and suppressors) and a homing launcher, remember it takes money to make money

Buy An ARMOURED Kuruma

While the $500,000 price tag is steep its worth every penny as it will make many set ups a walk, or rather drive, in the park. It unlocks after the fleeca job

Learn How To Lose 3 Stars

Take some time and get used to losing 3 star wanted levels, this will help later on. Outside the city go off road, inside the city use alleys, the ls river and subway tracks.
Find a way that works for you

The Second Best Weapon Is Player Saved Outfits

Go to any clothes or gun shop and purchase a heavy utility vest/heavy combat outfit and/or a bullet proof helmet then save them as an outfit. In the lobby the host can change "heist clothing" to "player saved outfits" instead of "from selection" This will provide extra armour in heists, and limit your ability to sprint but it's a price worth paying

The Criminal Mastermind Challenge

Want $10,000,000? Keep reading

Doing each heist , in order, with the same team, without dying will get you ten million dollars. It sounds a lot harder than it is, use these methods and its easy

MASTERMIND TIP

Each method in this guide can help you do this challenge but there are specific strategies for some, these can be found at the bottom of each section under the mastermind tip heading

Practice At Least One Job

Before beginning you must do a random setup or heist first this will prevent a glitch that can reset your progress, but really you should run any set up you are not comfortable with, we all have one!

Michael, Franklin And Trevor Can Help

Outnumbered, out gunned, out of armour, staring death in the face? Switch characters, this is the fastest way to quit before dying and will not fail the challenge

The Losing Edge

If things aren't going you're way, fail. Failing any setup or heist will not fail the challenge so find a way to do so that you are comfortable with, for example say you take 3 rocket hits during the labs heist but manage to collect the ground team. When everyone is in it triggers a checkpoint so get everyone out and (well) clear then blow up the valkyrie, failing the mission but giving you are fresh chopper for the last bit

Ex-plosives

Avoid using explosives, or limit them to one man. Sticky bombs should be ruled out when moving too as they can be glitchy

More Armour

Fill up on armour and snacks when ever possible, same for the kuruma, stay in it when ever possible. Also have two parachutes at all times, better to have and not need than to need and not have!

THE FLEECA JOB

Not going to go into a lot of detail on this one because, frankly, if you are having trouble you aren't ready for heists.
That being said:

  Reveal hidden contents

When stealing the kuruma attack from both sides, one man close with a shotgun, one at range with a rifle

There is no easy way to do the hack, use the d pad and stick with it,
same with the drill no trick to it just push forward slowly and don't rush
