[V|REL|WIP|LUA] DutyOnV - Create Jobs SDK

Recommended Posts

alexslx

DutyOnV

This plugin allow the player execute different jobs in Grand Theft Auto V and is easily extensive allowing developers to create new kind of jobs. I've created this plugin in order to encourage all users and developers use a centralized SDK for creating this kind of jobs and also being open source instead of fighting for being famous.

Features

  • Menu for job selection
  • Random world events (things happening without your action).
  • Active events (job related events)
  • Custom job creation (Police job sample provided).

Requirements

Installation

  • Copy this plugin contents to your GTALUA/addons folder.
  • Run the game and press F9 to activate.

Download

Notes

  • This is an initial release, expect a lot of bugs.
  • There is no a full developed job yet as I'm expecting contribution of developers.
  • Feel free to send suggestions.

As being open source, I'do love to have contributors on this project. Fragmenting like we did with LUA isn't good to the community. Also, feel free to modify to be compatible to your plugin and make a fork so we can have this mod working with both.

Please consider joining instead of creating a new one.

Regards,

Thanks very much for this. Although I have no real sense of how to mod or do what you guys do I greatly appreciate the efforts of all of you. Great job, this looks like it can add tons to the world of V

Not sure if possible or what but some suggestions perhaps for interactive things that I like in these open worlds:

A job like picking up trash via foot and garbage truck around the world

Being a limo driver.

Cutting grass in the beautiful lawns of LS: Could have a meter bar that shows the progress of the lawn that is being cut. A reward such as money.

Would be neat to utilize the oceans more such as fishing or catching fish and then selling them.

Giving out parking tickets at meters that have expired if at all possible.

Tow truck missions to pick up disabled vehicles on highways and roads, bring them to Los Santos customs or a gas stations and then have them repaired.

Being an on call mechanic to go and repair cars that are broken down and don't want a tow.

Walking dogs for a fee :)

Airport bagger that loads luggage onto the planes via the airport bagger vehicle.

Valet driver at golf course, shops etc. A car pulls up and you have to valet the car without any damage in parking spots.

Yes, I'm codding a basic police job just as an example. Feel free to dive into it and come with great jobs :)

This is nice. It is sort of like Skyrim/Fallout Radiant system where the system would conjure up random jobs/encounters that the player would interact with (or ignore).

Hope to see this grow into a mature foundation for more random encounters!

@alexslx

Wow man, this is awesome. This kind of framework should be shared and spread across modding community, it will enhance gameplay a lot and make game so much more alive. Especially good random events. Keep up the good work. I hope I'll contribute with something nice in the future for DutyOnV.

Fallout modder here. Radiant quests in Skyrim are awful. Fallout doesn't have them at all (repeatable random encouters with enclave(f3)\NCR\Legion(fnv) doesn't count, just enemies spawned behind player). GTAV can become a lot better in radiant\random stuff, because it's so much easier to code stuff here than in F3\FNV.

This sounds fantastic. Really looking forward to it.

I'm curious, are you looking at the Content Creator from Online as a reference for this? Not to use in online, but just to see how Rockstar has designed it. I remember a beta of a functional mission creator being leaked all the way back in 2013, and I'd love to use some of the features it had.

So does this actually require coding knowledge or is it some kind of DYOM-stylized mod? :)

Go to GTALua/native_call_layouts.ini search for "ADD_RELATIONSHIP_GROUP" and change the line to the following:

ADD_RELATIONSHIP_GROUP=sm)a

To add a relationship group use:

local c_relationship_group = CMemoryBlock(4)

natives.PED.ADD_RELATIONSHIP_GROUP("put the name of the relationship group here!", c_relationship_group)

local your_relationship_group_hash = c_relationship_group:ReadDWORD32(0)

c_relationship_group:Release()

In the next version you'll be able to use something like game.AddRelationhsipGroup, but for now this is required.
