SA WIP GTA: Carcer City - converting the MH map to SA!

For f*cks sake, do what III did and base it off a generic city that would exist in that region rather than trying to pinpoint what city it's supposed to be based on. That'd be the best way to do it.

I took the question to rockstar but they had no info on this,which to me means they will eventually make it in the future

 

 

 

Here is a some info on its whereabouts i have complied

 

liberty to carcer aprox 50 to 120 gta miles away(GTAIV)

 

possible locations in real miles

 

philidelpha 94 miles

pittsberg 370 miles

baltimore 192 miles

buffalo 396 miles

cleveland 462 miles

 

long shot locations

 

detroit 615 miles

chicago 789 miles

 

if you travel 0.30 miles in gta = 1 real mile(GTAIV)

 

How this was determined was measuring the width of algonquin in GTAIV and comparing it to its real life counterpart

 

Other requirements that should be considered

 

rustbelt

steel

ice

poverty

flaming river

mills

heartland

 

Finally some other clues the city offers.They need to include...

 

 

lethal injection(A state that uses this method)

zoo

subway

darkwood penn/insane asylum

museum

 

So this should help narrow down some of the possible locations,but Detroit as ruff as it is is NOT carcer city,why?michigan has NO DEATH PENALTY

I never said that LC is exact copy from NY, NY was just taken as a base.

@up they used as a base "the worst place in America" so it's base was america's cities with more criminal activities... Hell, buddy, I can even say if I want to that it looks like chicago because It's a generic place based on a lot of places instead of just one.

The only thing NYC has in common with III is really just a few of the buildings and nothing else. Again, it's more generic than anything.

LC in GTA III is different from LC in GTA IV.

IV's LC is based on NYC only, while III's LC is based on a combination of some american cities (something like Lost Heaven or Empire Bay).

 

Also, I think Carcer City is the same as Liberty City from III. It's not based on a specific city.

As for Carcer City, I think that its based on Baltimore. I feel like, when looking at the distance that it really is.

 

Anyways I really dont know where to base it on. The levels give a nice idea but still I want to model CC in a way that it fits perfectly.

Well camden and philly are just separated by a river.Philly would be a safe guess it has most of the requirements listed

 

 

Another thing would be if i recall correctly philly had a police corruption scandal,maybe my memory is wrong but i think this is accurate.Regardless just make sure the river is on fire lol

Now that you say it, yeah, Philly would be a good choice. But Carcer always gave me that Detroit-like ambience, so if I was danny, I would go for Philly, but I would modify it just a bit to give it a Detroit like ambience. But well, that's up to our fella dkluin here...

Camden:

-Flaming river

-Poverty

-Abandoned buildings

-Close to NY and fits the distance

He (mostly by himself) is referred to as a mid-western stick-up artist, since he hung around the mid-western area of the US robbing whatever places he could. So this could probably help place Carcer City somewhere in the mid-west, or near it.

 

Though, that kind of conflicts with GTA IV's stat measurement where Carcer City is only about 50-120 miles away from Liberty City.

Midwest is not said once during the conversation he only said a score in the outskirts of carcer city.Where do you get all this info about micheal?.Not saying that carcer isnt hinted in gta sa for being midwest but dam this is all news to me where is you're source on this info?

Now when you saing it, Camden/Phily seems also to have the right distance and location from NY.

I rember a few times he stated he was born in the Midwest.
